2 MOH Drama - Help!

2 MOH Drama - Help!

I have gotten myself into a major bind.

When I had originally gotten engaged and told my closest friend from college that I had gotten engaged, we agreed she would be my MOH. Unfortunately she lives OOT and has not been able to assist in any of the wedding planning. We haven't been talking as often because she lives so far away.

At the same time, I got reunited with one of my closest childhood friends who is local AND loves everything about wedding planning. I also told her that she is my MOH. This childhood friend has acted like a true MOH (went to appointments with me, hair/make up trial, DIY projects, planning my bridal shower/bachelorette party, etc. etc.)

Now it's wedding time and the first MOH is hurt and upset that I have another MOH.

I know it's totally my fault and now I don't know what to do.

My options are:

1. Print 2 MOH on the programs and have no MOH toast at the reception
2. Have the original MOH be printed on the program and have no toast at the reception
3. Have only the second MOH be printed on the program and do the toast at the reception and risk hurting the first MOH's feelings
4. Have no MOH listed on the program and just have bridesmaids (FH will still have a best man)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I don't need this additional stress 3 weeks before the wedding!!!

What would you do if you were me?

I like option one. You don't have to nix the toast either...you can have them both speak...anything goes nowadays...

If I were you, I would print both names in the program, and have both make a toast at the reception. Why can't you do that?
I'm guess there's a reason you didn't consider that option but I think it's the most fair. The fact is that you asked two girls to be your MOH and you should treat them both equally. I would be so hurt if I was asked to be someone's maid of honor, and then because someone else was around to help more I was 'demoted'.

If I were you I would print both their names as MOH's....

technically, they are both MOHs... and you wouldn't want to punish the OOT, right? I mean, if she lived close by then she would have been at your side for all the wedding planning I'm assuming...

leave it up to them to decide if they want to do a toast (my MOH would rather not since she's shy)...

I hope that helps!!

don't stress... everything will work out!

In my opinion you should have two MOH, and print both of their names in the program. Have the one who hasn't been as active in planning walk down first, and then have your MOH who has been helping walk down right before you to give her that extra special position....
Then no MOH toast at the wedding.
That way you don't hurt either.

I would print both MOH names and let whoever who wants to make the speech.

I think you should have both names printed on the programs, and if they want to give speeches, then have them both give speeches at the reception..who cares what anyone else thinks..I think it would be nice, and fair to the both of them!

Have both in the program and both do the toast. I have 2 MOH's one being my sister and the other my BFF. Sister will walk right before me and its up to them about speeches, but everyone can talka bout me if they really want to!

Dont let drama be created where it isnt needed...tell the first MOH that you are having 2 and thats that...they can walk down togehter, have both name sin the programs and they can both speek....not a time to be jealous!

You needed the help, so thank goodness for MOH #2!

You could print both their names as MOH in the program, and they can both give a toast... why not? That's not unheard of...

I knew a bride who had like 4 MOH's and no BM's.... because she just didn't know who to pick as MOH so she picked them all!... I know that's extreme but the idea is it's your wedding, you don't have to follow anyone else's rules... you''re allowed to work it however is best for you...

I have two MOH's. One lives in the same city as me and the other (my sister) lives in Canada. She won't be able to make it to the wedding, but her name will still be listed in the program along with the other MOH. And even if she was at the wedding, they would both makes toasts/speeches and have thier names listed in the program

It's not the quanitiy of things they do for you......it's the reason why you chose them.

Is either married?
could one be a maid of honor and the other a matron of honor?

Or do they do that anymore....LOL!!!

One more thing to possibly consider having both as MOH. I'm doing that with my 2 cousins.
When I went to the church , the priest asked who was MOH and I told him that both were. His reply, well that's nice but who's going to be MOH to witness and sign your marriage license? Pick one so I can write it in my book!

Print both in the program...

you can have one do a RD toast, 1 wedding toast
or just say we really dont want to make our guest bored please keep speeches really short and have both at wedding

like i said in my other post... both my MOhs and dh's best men .. total of 4 people .. toasts under 2 min for all of them!

My personal opinion is this:

Keep both MoH's since they both mean very much to you even though one is so involved and the other not so involved.

Have both of them do a brief MoH toast (side by side so one does not seem favored over the other) and keep it brief though.

Have 2 MOH and if both want to give toasts, let them. DH had 2 BM (his brother and his best friend). Both gave speeches. It's not that big of a deal. Many people have 2 MOH/BM. I would not demote either one of them. That's hurtful. The original MOH lives out of town and can not be expected to go on appointments and stuff. It's not her fault. I would just have both and have both names in the program.

Don't stress about this. Relax, your day is coming soon

Option number one. There is no reason why you cannot have two MOH

Print both names and have them both do toasts, unless one is shy!
