2 Stupid Rehearsal Dinner Question

We're not having a rehearsal (the 'rehearsal' will take place 30 min before the wedding), but we're planning on having a dinner the night before the wedding for the bridal party and families.

Stupid question 1: Is it still called a rehearsal dinner?

Stupid question 2: Am I supposed to invite OOT guests?

ETA Stupid question 3: Any restaurant recommendations? In or around Farmingdale preferable.

2 Stupid Rehearsal Dinner Question

I'm doing the same thing. I'm calling it the rehearsal dinner, but I'm not inviting OOT guests. My rehearsal dinner is at a restaurant and we have over 50ppl with immediate family and bridal party plus their guests. If it were at our home or something less expensive then I'd probably invite the OOT guests.

2 Stupid Rehearsal Dinner Question

we may or may not have a rehearsal and it may or may not be at the hall (depending on what other parties they have)

we are calling it a rehearsal dinner, only inviting BP and spouses, having tray italian food at my moms and wine/ beer.

2 Stupid Rehearsal Dinner Question

You could call it an appreciation dinner or thank you dinner if you wanted. We aren't inviting OOT guests either.

2 Stupid Rehearsal Dinner Question

I think you can still call it a 'Rehearsal Dinner' even though it's not following a rehearsal. And until recently, I never thought OOT guests were invited to that. I guess if I have very few OOT guests, and not so many people for my dinner, I'll invite them, but I don't think that will be the case at all.

2 Stupid Rehearsal Dinner Question

Thanks, ladies. My sister invited OOT guests to the rehearsal, but she didn't have a lot of OOTers coming to the wedding. The OOT guests I have will also be coming to town w/ their kids, so if invite the adults I feel obligated to invite their kids especially since their kids aren't invited to the wedding. UGH!

As for restaurants in Farmingdale, check out Verona, Absolutely Mario, or Library Cafe (more casual environment)!

Re: 2 Stupid Rehearsal Dinner Question

I did the same thing. I called more of a 'Thank you' dinner. Since I had a very small bridal party I invited them, my in-laws, my immediate family and my aunts / uncles. I couldn't invite all of the oot guests because that would be too many. You invite whoever you want. I kept it reasonable. With those invites we still had 23 people including ourselves.
