Re: 20% NO...is that really true
a little more than half our guests are OOT, and our decline rate looks like it's going to be 35%.
of the locals, only 7% declined... the rest are all the OOT guests who can't make it.

I got 31%! I'm getting married on the last day of a holiday weekend. I don't mind, since that means it'll cost less

I had 50% no. Everyone I've spoken to has had MORE than 20% no. It also depends on the size of your guest list (if it's only immediate family, they're likely all going to come, wheras more distant family and friends are more likely to decline), and your number of OOT guests. Holidays also have a lot to do with it.

We sent out Save the Dates, so our 'No' rate was much less than we expected and/or wanted...

Re: 20% NO...is that really true
Ah... we were also told 20% would say no. And that's what I've calculated my budget based on (220-ish invites and 180 actual yes's). 20% does sound like a lot of no's though.
So, part of me want the 20% decline, but then there's the other part that wants everyone to come. At least we shouldn't be anywhere near our minimum of 75. And my invitations won't go out til the end of the month/beginning of July.
