I was so happy to see this thread! Always nice to know and hear from other 2005 brides! Maybe if we get enough responses to this thread they'll give us our own forum soon! Right now I'm trying to plan the wedding from San Diego where we're living until next summer. We're going back to Long Island to visit in October and hope to put our deposit down on a hall. I hate waiting so long, but we want to be able to see it first - we're fairly convinced it will be at Vineyard Caterers though! So nice to meet you all!

Ooh! I am SO excited to see this thread! I am tempted to print it out and show people when they tell me that I'm crazy for setting the date for June 18, 2005! My fiance and I are out here in California, but we're planning on moving back to Long Island next year. (We're both from Suffolk).

Anyway, people out here just can't imagine the fact that places are already taking bookings for 2005. I'm so tired of explaining that most likely all the great places are already booked for summer 2004. We've already booked Giorgio's for our reception and we pretty much have the DJ set (Keep Dancin'--- family friend). I am so psyched that we are getting Giorgio's for the 2003 prices. They're still renovating and they say the prices are going to go up another $30pp in August. People in CA just don't get it. They think its outrageous to spend $60 pp!! I can't wait until we move back to the 'right' coast!

Welcome and Congrats nehaliasz! I am in the boat with you, as are most these girls on this thread. I just moved from MA this month and bridal shops would not even let me LOOK at dresses if I told them my real date. So you are in good hands here! We all have plenty of time to plan and enjoy the process, so tell those people where to stick it when they question your 05 wedding!
