Hi girls, just wanted to say that this past Monday was a year that JT and I have been engaged, and I am now CONVINCED that time flies! I cannot believe that we are approaching our year and a half mark for the wedding. I also am no longer getting the looks about planning our wedding for 05, it's really nice that people are FINALLY interested and excited for this wedding
Ontop of this, I would like to welcome all of the new 05 brides. Hitting our one year mark of being engaged brought back all of those feelings from when we were first engaged, and I want to remind everyone to ENJOY IT! It's a WONDERFUL feeling that can be forgotten in the stress of planning! So hugs to all of my 05 girls

i can't believe that i'm going on 2 years of being engaged!! your story about your parents made me think a lot, i guess being broke helps people staty together and puts everyones proities(sp??) straight....

Thanks! Trust me, I get so bummed about money, especially because the flip side of my parents' story is that I have seen what it was like to have no money and the stress that it causes, so I do everything possible to make sure we have everything paid for and in order, and that in itself is stressful. But just coming to the realization that it's going to be hard, that helps. I mean, I like to know what I'm getting myself into

Oh, haha, I didn't realize you don't know the area. Yeah, it's on Long Island in Suffolk County. It's really pretty, right on the water.

wow!!! if i had that place i couldn't wait for my wedding either i don't have a place picked out yet, but i also want something by the water too. except here in queens....

Well, trust me, with the money I need to save, I am ok with it being so far away We actually weren't even looking for a place on the water, it just ended up that way. To be totally honest, I had absolutely no idea of what I wanted when we started looking, which really helped because I was open to everything. We instantly fell in love with this place when we saw it.

how did u find it? i have 3 places that i want to look at and i found them all on a web site. but one of them stands out so much that i'm determined to have my wedding there!!!! but like u it's pricey
but i just keep imagining the wedding and i know i have to save money to have it there

i have the same prob w/ my place. they say on sats they only can hv parties w/ over 120 guests. my fam is not that big. so now it's on a sun. i'm trying to only invite the min too. not that many acquaintances

Well, the reason we waited until 2005, besides money, is that we wanted a Saturday night wedding, but couldn't afford it at the Bourne, but the Sunday we are gettning married is the 3rd of July, so everyone has the next day off, so we have a 'Saturday' night feel for Sunday prices

that's smart i originally wanted it on the 20th (the first day we ever kissed and started to date)but the june 20 is too soon & the next june 20 is on a monday so i guess the 19th will have to do-------- for now
