Fh and I 'met' at the St. Gregs fair the summer going into senior year of high school...

...when we started talking about getting married we thought about getting married at St. Gregs church (since thats where we met) and decided that we should go to mass there and see how we liked the church...

....a few weeks later, we were running our saturday morning errands and we were about to pass the church. He suggested ,since we were right there, to stop and check it out. As we walked he started reminiscing about how we started and then said he had a surprise for me....he took out the ring and i just started balling and hugging him....i was sooooo surprised and sooo happy that he did it in a way that I would least expect it bc at the time we were together for 8 yrs

it was December 23rd and FH and I were just hanging around our apartment... he asked me if i wanted to exchange one christmas present. Of course I said yes. So I gave him his present first.. and before I did, he said, 'lets take pictures of each other' ;...I thought that was kinda odd but, whateverr... so while FH was opening his present I took like 3 or 4 pictures..

then FH gave me my present...and as im opening it, he was snapping pictures like crazyyyy and i was like holyy heII give it a rest lol...so, I ended up opened up a picture frame that had a picture of FH in it down on one knee holding my ring. The bottom of the picture from says 'Marry Me' ... i was in shock..

then i look up at FH and he is down on one knee and he says, I think this goes with it too.. and he was holding my ring.

OH lord lol

Yay, this is fun!

My birthday is November 27th, meaning it usually falls on Thanksgiving or just misses it by a day. This past year, in 2008, my birthday fell on Thanksgiving. Usually around this time every year we plan a trip and this one was no different. FH and I had discussed marriage before and I had a feeling that this trip was it. I left work early on Thanksgiving Eve, excited to start my 2 week vacation. When I arrived home I opened the front door and saw a trail of rose petals leading me up the stairs to our apartment. I followed the trail, thinking all the while that this was some elaborate birthday surprise. When I reached the end of the trail, there was FH on one knee (shaking like a leaf I might add) with a dozen lush red roses and a little blue velvet box. I was so surprised that I never even said yes. Immediately after we left to my future sister-in-law's house for what was billed to me as a birthday party, but turned out to be an engagement party!

Well, it was Memorial Day weekend (the Saturday to be exact) and we had plans with his friends for dinner that night in NYC.........He had asked me if I wanted to come lay out on the boat and get some sun in the day time before we got ready for the city....

Got down to his marina and started walking towards his boat. He was kind of acting weird but I just figured he was on his 'period' and I didn't ask any questions. We jump on the boat and open the sliding door that leads into the 'living room' area. There were hundreds of light and hot pink rose pedals everywhere....at first I didn't get it because he always gets me roses so I kind of thought he was just being nice. Then he closed the sliding door behind him and gave me this look and started smiling. The boat is the first place we loved each other 5 years ago.....so he tells me, 'this is the first place I told you I loved you...and now i want to tell you something else.' He started telling me how much he loved me and couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with me (I think this is what he was saying because I think I blanked out for a few minutes)....then he got down on one knee, took my hand and asked me to marry him while taking out the ring box.......I think I started freaking out because he kept saying.....'Babe, is that a yes?'.....called all of my family and friends but most of them knew already since he had asked my dad for permission a few weeks before!

FH stayed up the entire night before because he was so nervous about proposing. He replaced my everyday ring with my engagement ring & I was supposed to find it when I woke up for school that morning. However, I decided not to go to school that day since I wasn't feeling well. At around 11AM, Chris asked me if I felt well enough to go to the store. So we went to the store. Strangely enough, I threw on sweat pants & a tee shirt & no jewelry (for the first time in 8 years). So off to the store we went. When we got back home I unpacked the groceries & joined Chris sitting on the couch. He said, “I have a surprise for you.” I said, “Why?” knowing our anniversary was 3 days away. So he told me to go look on my desk. I didn’t even notice it. Then I picked it up, put it on, and couldn’t believe it. Took it off for him to put on & then I said yes.

The greatest part is that this is so us. Just the two of us at home by ourselves. The best thing is that the only person who knew he was going to propose was FMIL. I told him that when he did it i didn't want anyone to know before me.

These are great stories....I will post mine but it is long!!!!!

Not a quick and simple story because things didn't happen the way he planned them apparently. He made a 'date night' plan to do dinner on the north shore and then go horseback riding in the sunset On Sunday (July19th). He planned on doing it then. (Rewind a bit) Mike's family rented a house on the beach on Jersey Shore from the 10th-the 18th. I planned on going for the weekend because I couldn't take of summer school, Mike was staying til Wed. On Sunday his family planned on taking family portraits on the beach, which they hired a photographer for. She had to cancel and reschedule til Tuesday. This messed things up for me because I was planning on leaving Sunday because I had work on Monday. I decided to drive back up to Jersey after work on Tuesday so that I could be in the family pics. Meanwhile, Mike was picking up my ring on Tuesday because I wasn't supposed to be there originally. Since I had to come back for the pictures, it was kinda throwing him off because he wouldn't be at the house when I got back so he had to make up all these lies. While Mike was waiting to pick up the ring, he was thinking how 'great' it would be for me to 'officially' be part of the family in the family portraits. His whole fam thought he was doing it Sunday, but he changed his mind and decided to do it Tuesday since everyone was there, I'd have the ring on in the fam portraits, and the photographer might be able to take some 'engagement' pics of us. So he asked me to go for a walk on the beach. We walked down to this spot with rocks that we had walked to a couple of days earlier (its in the photo album from the weekend). So we walked down there, he started to say how he was so happy I came back for the family photos, and thinks we should make it official (being part of the fam) and blabbing on about how much he loves me and thinks I fit into the fam so well....then gets down on his knee....meanwhile I totally think he is joking and doing a 'fake' proposal to 'make it official'....so I'm saying things like Stop, get up, this isnt funny, don't joke about things like this......Then I see the ring box.....and that's when i started freaking out, and wishing I was paying attention. So he asked me, I said yes, etc etc...we walked back to the house now to tell his fam who had no idea (they werethinking he would ask this Sun) So it was really cool to see their reactions and share it with them. The best part was....the photographer came about a 1/2 hour later to do the beach family portraits, and after all the group shots, she walked down with us to our spot and took photos for us there....so now we have some engagement day pics!!

ok i'm gonna try not to ramble.

quick side note : john was persistant in getting me to be his gf. i keot saying no that we werent ready (we each had some ex drama going on). when i finally decided to go with it i texted him saying 'pick a date' (meaning as our anniversary). he then always joked that he would propose to me via text cuz of what i did.

the day john decided to propose, he messed up many times. first he sent me an email that was named 'pics of ring'. i didnt read it but called him asking if i was suposed to have this email. he said no, he sent it by mistake. it not only had pics of my ring but it also explained all the details of how he was gonna propose. it was meant to be sent to his friend.
then he started asking me to come with him to the library after work but i didnt want to go and we went back and forth a bit and he was getting annoyed. i then got a text saying 'forget tonight. she wont come with me to the library'. i texted him back asking if he meant to send this to someone else and made up this whole lie and tried to play it off meanwhile i found out later that was meant to be sent to my best friend.
so anyway..we went to dinner with our best friends since it was one of their birthdays. everyone acted normal and i told the story about the text and email and what not and no one reacted weird.

after dinner we were walking back to our apartment and john says 'you're ugly' nice right? hes so sweet.
i opened the door and there were rose petals in a trail from the living room to the bedroom. propped up on a pillow was my old cell phone with the text screen reading 'Will You Marry Me'. my ring was tied to fishing line and attached to the antenna. so yes he managed to propose via text message lol

It was Wednesday and the end of the school year was quickly approaching. I was informed that I would be switching from 3rd to 1st grade in September so Tony came to my school to help me pack up some of my things to store at my mom's house. While at school I introduced Tony to two colleagues, Karen and Jan. Karen has always been a close friend since I started teaching so she knew a lot about Tony and was finally meeting him. She gave him a big hug and then said, 'we're still waiting for that ring!' Tony just laughed and said, 'I know. Soon.' Little did we all know the ring was in his pocket the whole time.

After packing up the car Tony was going to follow me home to change and he oddly had this strong desire to go for sushi. In the 3 years we have been together it has always been like pulling teeth to get Tony to eat sushi. I thought this was very odd and had a thought for a second that this could be it, but it quickly went out of my mind. We drove down to Port Jeff, in the pouring rain, to my favorite Japanese restaurant and everything was delicious!

As we were finishing up with dinner, Tony got a phone call from his friend Dave (a fake phone call; no one was on the other end). Tony said that Dave was out on his sailboat and coming into port. He told Dave that we would walk over and meet him at the dock to see his boat. At this point I questioned why Dave would be sailing in the rain, but surprisingly didn't think much more about it. As we were walking to the dock I was shivering, with the umbrella in hand, and wondering again why we would be walking to the dock in the rain. When we got there the gate to the dock was locked! Tony got very upset and started walking around to the other side, as I stood there thinking we should just leave. I followed him and started looking out into the water with him for Dave's boat.
I said, 'Tony I don't see a boat coming in. Let's just go. It's raining, it's cold, let's get out of here.'
Tony sighs and says, 'Well, this isn't the way I had planned it.' He begins to reach in his pocket, pulls out the ring box and gets down on one knee.
Right there in the rain, on the dock, he proposed! It wasn't the way he had planned it, but it was perfect!

So I knew our engagement was coming, just didn't know when. FH knows I love to snoop, like seriously I am freaking Nancy Drew with no shame. So at 3 1/2 years to the date of dating, he wakes up at 4am and rolls over and says 'happy anniversary sweetheart' i just mumbled and told him to let me sleep. Well he rolled over on my again and said 'i love you so much babe' my response 'yea yea go back to bed' finally, he puts something on my right shoulder, and said 'but you didn't expect this at 4am, christine i love you, will you marry me?' i jumped out of bed so fast and turned on every single light. i opened a little black box and there was my beautiful ring. fh was still laying in bed and i said 'buddy get over here on one knee and ask again!' so he got down and asked again, and i fell to the floor, and said 'yes yes yes of course'.

FH decided to go PR one random week, so we booked it like last minute. He kept asking me to go night swimming at the beach and i was like definitely no

he slept over the night before and wore cargo pants that day, he put the ring in the ankle pocket and then right before wepassed through the gate he went to the bathroom and put it in the camera bag, and switched it back after we passed the gate (sneaky sneakyyyyyy)

so our first day there was awesome, had a great lunch, chilled at the pool, went to old san juan and came back to the hotel around 8ish. So he asks me again to go night swimming and i tell him again no, so he said fine lets at least walk in the water on the beach, so i agree

its pitch black on the beach but beautiful, we start walking (fh is still wearing the cargo pants from that morning), and he says to wait so he can roll up his pants (aka get the ring) so i wait.....and wait.... this kids kinda taking forever so im like hurry up! lol and start just staring down the beach and then i feel him take my hand and i turn around and he's down on one knee

and on go the waterworks!!! he asks me to marry him and goes to open the ring box and the ring falls out! ::::gasp::::: we were right next to the water!!!!! fh is freaking out, im in shock so i have no idea whats going on, but the moonlight catches the diamond and he finds it, and then im nodding my head yes cuz im too stunned to speak and am waiting for fh to put the ring on so im like'well put it on already!' and hes like 'you didnt say yes!' so i told him hi was nodding but obviously he cant see me in the freakin dark

and then we lived happily ever after the end

i took a pic of fh right as we were walking on the beach! lol little did i know! he does look pretty sneaky here though hhaaaa

Well, Disney World is my favorite place. I had dreamed of going there for as long as I could remember when he took me in Jan 2003 as a Christmas present. In Jan 2004 we went back. We'd already been ring shopping, so there was some suspicion, but I really wasn't sure if he was going to propose or not. He almost had me convinced that he wasn't!

On the 1st or 2nd day we were there I was making a charm bracelet in the hotel gift shop and I came across a little charm that was a little mickey head engagement ring! I teased him and said 'well, if we were ENGAGED, I could get this.' FH laughed and said 'someday.'

Another day we were at World Showcase and we were at the Germany Pavillion where they have a lot of Snow White stuff (I love Snow White). There were two pins I liked, one was SW with a rose and the other was SW and Prince Charming. he asked which one I wanted, and I said 'surprise me' and went inside to look at hummels. He came into the store and gave me the pin with SW and the rose.

A few nights later, he kept teasing me with 'I have something for you, I have something for you.' and I wasn't sure what, but I hoped.

On Saturday we were on line for the Haunted Mansion set at MGM and waiting quite a while when he truend to me and said, 'Jennifer, I love you. I need you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, so I want you to have this.' and he gives me the pin with SW and Prince Charming. I laughed and told him he was really mean. He thought he was pretty amusing!

Later on that night (our last night there) we headed for the Magic Kingdom to watch Spectromagic (light parade) and Wishes (Fireworks). He was pretty obsessed with getting there, which was odd considering we'd seen them both multiple times. So anyway we got to MK just as the parade was starting and we stood right by the entrance watching the parade. I was trying to get a good spot and trying to take pictures. I got annoyed with FH for tugging at my right wrist (the one with the charm bracelet on it). He stopped.

After the parade was over where we were, we walked up mainstreet toward the castle along with the back of the parade, singing along 'On this magic night a million stars will play beside us...'

We got to the top of Main Street and hunkered down for a 30 minute wait until the fireworks. It was pretty cold (about 40 degrees, I think). He was sayng how happy he was to be there with me, and said that the hearts in the fireworks would be for us tonight. I thought it was cheesy, but sweet. About 10 minutes before the parade FH said we should get someone to take our picture in front of the castle. He kind of took a long time in choosing someone (and spoke to the guy about 2 seconds too long) but finally he took me to a clear spot in front of the castle to take the picture. He said 'I love you', leaned over and kissed me and as I protested 'What are you doing!!? This guy is trying to take a picture!?' He dropped to one knee and said 'Jennifer, WIll you marry me?'

And then we watched the fireworks together! And we have pictures of the proposal!!!

Also, the bit about him grabbing at my bracelet was that he was trying to put on the little engagement ring charm!

SO perfect!!!
