so i booked my hall and church at the end of 2010 for our november 2012 wedding (crazy i know). ive noticed some of you girls have already booked your vendors as well. when should i start booking my florist, dj, bakery, photographer (a family member will probably do mine), etc? would i be crazy to start booking them 1.5 years in advance? i'd just like to make sure i get first pick of things, pay things off over time - and of course, not stress myself out a month before the wedding. should i realistically start after nov 2011 - or get the ball rolling now?? im trying to keep things in perspective here. thanks so much for your input!

I don't think it's ever too early to start booking vendors. I booked all my big vendors already (florist, DJ, photographer). I also already bought my dress!! It's never too early to start!!

i've been taking small steps with booking vendors...first i spent time researching photographers then i focused on flowers and now were up to limos...i would say book now to lock in your price because you never know if prices will go up

I would say book as early as possible to get locked in at this years prices.

I agree - it is not too early. It may not seem like it now, but these appointments really eat up time. FH and I spent like 10 solid weekends seeing vendors (just a few hours each w/e but it can get exhausting!) b/c we wanted to really see what was out there, compare prices/personalities/etc.! We just have limo left at this point and we are about a yr and a half out! ALSO some vendors we called were already booked!!! (Photographers in particular!!!). HTH! Happy planninggg

We already booked our church, hall, photographer, videographer and DJ for our 9/7/12 wedding. Next on our list are limos and florist.
I wanted to make sure we got the people we wanted so we booked as soon as we could.

It's never too early to book your vendors, but since you have plenty of time... do extra research and meet with a few vendors each. That will definitely give you negotiation room!

we booked most of our stuff last year and got 2010 prices for a 2012 wedding, Good thing we did whenever we run into our vendors they always say people are asking about our date....
