Ok figured I would start this since I noticed alot of others are starting them and I believe there are 4 of us already and I am sure in the next few months there will be more. We can use this to discuss planning and any questions we have.

When I spoke to a staff member from the swan club, a couple weeks ago when I was there we were taking about the showcase, and he said something about the cake not being as good as it normally is at the last showcase because they had to cut it so fat in advance and then it sat there.....so if you didn't get it right away it was dry.....

Not really sure,.I never had a slice, not sure if this is true or not

I absolutely loved all the food. I think we pretty much have our minds made up for the menu.
As for the cake, let's see what happens at this showcase. I'm a sweets person and I wasn't crazy about the cake but I understand what they told you.
I can't wait for the showcase! What room are you in again?

I think we might be using the pavillion for the ceremony and then CH. Not 100% sure yet but let's see what happens. I always wanted to get married in a church but FH is catholic and Im just christian so I'm not sure how that's gonna work.

i hear ya, the cake was dry. I wasn't a fan. but if it's included, I'm not about to shell out cash to get a separate cake...most people don't really eat it or get such a tiny piece anyway....

you can get married in a catholic church if you are a baptized Christian. for a full mass they will get you a wavier or something from the diocese of rockville centre so you can receive communion for that one time at the wedding for it will be a sacramental mass for the catholic person. I looked into it, but apparently FH was blessed, not baptised methodist and with my small wedding of 75 i figured few if any would make it to the church.

we;re getting married at the swan club, cocktail hour outside, then i'm in the contessa for the reception

Re: ~*2012 Swan Club Thread*~

I upgraded to the Platinum package. We are doing the Wok station. Im really hoping to maybe win it in 2 weeks if they offer it again!

Re: ~*2012 Swan Club Thread*~

So???? Let me see if I understood this correctly, I don't have to convert to Catholic??
Also, I would love to upgrade to the Platimum Package but that would be an additional 2K for us and we can't go that route considering that FH allowed me to choose Sat the most expensive day... LOL!

I was going to go for the Sunday but it was already booked.
