Back in January, we began to figure out how we would plan the bridal shower. Kat & I are heading the committee and we have a few brides who already volunteered to help. We're trying to figure out the best date for all of the brides! Please vote above on which weekend works best for you. Also, if you have a restaurant recommendation, post one below.
Here is some info on how the actual bridal shower works (taken from Mara017, the bride who organized the 2012 shower): 'In the past we have all been given secret brides and you are given information about their registry and you buy something it. There would be a limit of something like $25. The 2011 girls made a cookbook so if we like that idea I would have someone on the committee to organize that. In the past, they have gotten donations from vendors (gift Certificates, items, etc) and did a raffle. You can have everyone get a certain amount of tickets for coming and if you want you can purchase more and the money would be given to a charity.
We'll have a poll in the upcoming week regarding location and also I'll be posting a letter for anyone to send to vendors who may want to donate.
***Last Day to Vote is August 1st***

I think somewhere mid point for everyone will be great if there will be drinks involved. I'm not sure where mid point is. I'm exit 39 on the lie and we have ladies from Queens and the Bronx.

Once we determine a date and who is interested in coming, if everyone is willing to give their town - there are online website and features that allow you to map a midpoint. If everyone is willing to share their hometown, we can literally find a geographic center.
It sounds like West Babylon might be fair bet as we have people from Queens and Bronx, but sounds like the majority of us are in Suffolk .

For TWOTY they just pick a place and we all go. So let's not make it so hard. It's ONCE that we are doing this. I could care less if it's 15 minutes more one way or the other. I just like hanging out with everyone and having an awesome time. Pick a place and let me know when and where and to the ladies in charge of it God bless you and thank you. LOL We will only be doing this once so it's not really a big deal. If some girls need a ride I am sure we can all work it out later.

I would love to be a part of this, but Sundays are tough for me since I'm more than 5 hours away :(

Re: 2013 Bridal Shower
I'd prefer almost any Sunday! I work for an RH and so I can pretty much expect to be working Friday/Saturday. But I get a little bit more leeway for Sundays.
And I'd love to help out, just point me where to go! ^^

Also, if we decide to use the place I can get in Sayville, we can all cook trays of food, either at the place or separately and pitch in, get some sturnos and trays, and it will alleviate the cost a bit on everyone, since we will be buying presents as well.
Just trying to be cost effective, we are saving for our wedding AND a house, so money is tight, which I am sure a lot of you ladies are in the same boat.
Let me know :) If some of you ladies want to take a ride there and see it we can also do that. xoxoxo
I think this is a great AFFORDABLE idea for all of us. Even if we don't want to cook and decide to have it catered instead, it would still be a huge price difference. I think we should definitely look into this.
If it helps, for anyone who is commuting from farther nassau or the city, I would be more than happy to have you meet at my place in dix hills and/or pick you up from the farmingdale train station and drive you over to the place in sayville
It's not necessarily a HUGE price difference at all. My parents did our engagement party at a KoC. The hall was free and even with FH's father being the Grand Poo-Pah of the place, it cost alot of money. There was a fee for the beer and soda. We had it catered and for the food, sternos, decorations and all that jazz, my parents were prob better off doing it at a restaurant. and that's with my BM's making all the desserts and my mom making CPs

THIS!!!!!!!
Mapping out a geographically desireable location for all is going to be both tedious and ridiculous. It's not in Guam for Pete's sake! We will work out car pools, train buddies etc after. THANK YOU EUNICE AND KATHRYN for spear-heading this. We look forward to your updates and decisions.

Would you be opposed to doing this in the city or is it better in Long Island?
