20/20 Hindsight....

I'm sure there have been threads like this before, but here is goes anyway...

Past brides... if you could go back to your wedding day is there anything you didn't do that you wish you did, or is there anything you did do that you wish you didn't.

Wish I got a video. We were saving $ and had a smaller wedding, but it would still be nice to have!

I'll go since its friday and I don't feel like working...let me preface this by saying that all these things are things that popped into my head after, none of it made my wedding day any less perfect

Wish I did
1. Gave my photographer a much more specific list of the types of things I wanted her to take pics of (every single picture she took was amazing but there are so many details that she didn't capture) and a more specific timeline (I'm really upset that we never made it to the cocktail hour but the more that I think about it I'm pretty sure we never told her flat out that we wanted to)
2. Made my mom feel more special...I've lived away from home since I left for college 10 years ago so as a result I have one of those my friends are like family situations so all my BMs were friends and now that I look back on it, there are things that I had them do that really should have been reserved for my mother (2 things that stand out are that borrowed my MOH's pearl necklace and had her put it on me even though my mom offered me hers, and I rode to the church w/ my BMs) I think now that I'm removed from it that since my mom did SO MUCH to help w/ my wedding while my BMs pretty much just showed up and since I'm my mom's only daughter I should have made a point to show her how much I appreciate her and everything she did
3. Taken my stinken veil off!!!!

Wish I didn't do
1. Leave for my honeymoon the next day...one day to relax and spend w/ family really would have made all the difference in the world and allowed us to enjoy the first 2 days of our honeymoon more

I wish I would have given the photographer a more specific and detailed list of what pictures I wanted... I would have made sure that they knew exactly what pictures were nrecessary-ones I thought were assumed were not and I was disappointed that they were 'missing' although the proofs I did get back were FABULOUS!


I wish I would have danced with my mother-Everyone was eating and Somewhere over the rainbow was played and she said lets dance-but I really wanted to make sure i ate something-and my food was there-so I said Hold on...and we never got a chance to ... I am still very sad about this

I wish I would have read more reviews and taken them into account regarding Adrienne's Bridal Salon- At first glance they were wonderful to me...BUT two days before my wedding I was hysterical because of the cra* they put me through... I did not need that tension. My dress was gorgeous but the stress could have been eliminated at many other bridal shops!
