I was over my minimum but still wound up paying for 7 late cancellations. I was really annoyed about it, but it didn't even cross my mind at the wedding. Trust me, it won't mean anything in the end!

Maybe the hall with surprise you and not charge you the minmum after all. Talk to your BM and tell him/her there were cancellations and see what they say.

Either way, you'll enjoy your special day and not give this little detail any thought in a few days.

Call your banquet manager and see if there is anything they can do. If not, move ahead and try not to think about it. Do not let their rudeness spoil your special day

I know how you feel, i just had 2 cancel today and my wedding is the same day as yours and I'm under my minimum too- was before by 5, but now its 7. My hall wouldn't bugde - but i'm having a baby sitter for the kids and got them to convert the unused to meals to chicken fingers and they are going to send them to the room the kids are going to be in. That works for m.

I called WM and they won't budge! They said there's nothing they can do for us or give us...but they will promise us a great wedding!!

Well that's good news! I think that should be a given!

I've had 2 couples cancel. One is getting sent to Iraq the other had a baby yesterday. Her husband may go but I doubt it. They have good excuses. It just sucks because we were 3 under our min. now were 7.

Last week I had 2 couples cancel and that put me 1 above my min. but at least they called. As some one mentioned above I am sure on our day we won't even notice.

Maybe I misunderstand the way this works but I guaranteed the hall my min of 120....so when I go to make my final pmt. I was only going to pay for 120 and then add on who ever is extra the day of so that Im only paying for those that attend.

Is that not how it goes?

I dont think that's how it works, anit bride..you have to pay for who you expect.

I think it sucks that they're not throwing in any extras. My sis got married at CHCC and they gave her extras b/c she was below her minimum so it wasn't wasted money. At NRC they also said they'd let us get extras to substitute if we were under. I can't believe WM won't give you anything!

Well when I gave my final # I was over my min - well I already paid for them as part of my minimum...so it's lost money. Oh well...at least it wasn't full price. Fingers crossed noone else cancels (or just doesn't show up)!!!


ETS: Anti-bride - once you give your final numbers they will never adjust down - but they said they could add on 2-3 more if someone changed their mind or decided to bring a guest...but no more than that. So I wouldn't underestimate more than a few people.

Hey ya know what, if they won't budge and throw something extra in for you, tell them you want those extra meals that you are paying for wrapped up. Send them home with your parents!

They will also figure out how many people you are having when you do the seating chart. At my hall, I think we have to give then the chart 1 week prior. That is how they base the minimum.

try not let it stress you out, it happens look foward to being a mrs,and the day will be great anyway.
