3 Hour Gap between Ceremony and Reception
A friend of ours is getting married in January the church ceremony begins at around 1 pm and the cocktail hour doesn't begin until 5pm. We live an hour away from the venue so we didn't want to book a hotel. So...what are we supposed to do for 3 hrs? It would be a waste of time to go home and come back. We really can't go out to dinner before a wedding and don't really want to go to a bar for a drink before a wedding especially on an empty stomach! Lol. Does anyone have any ideas?

Has the bride/groom provided any info about the area? Maybe there's a nice town area you can explore. Grab some coffee? Are you close to anyone else going to the wedding, maybe they are planning to do something else as well and you can join in?

No info. I like the idea of getting some coffee I'll search for a nice café in the area. We know a few people but they're in the bridal party and they're going to be out taking pictures.

We did not book at Jericho terrace but we looked there, they have a room where guests can stay if they arrive early. It's a decent size room, they provide drinks...etc. I don't remember how long before the start of a cocktail hour they offer it, but I'm sure they offered it to the bride. Not that you want to spend 3 hours in that room but you can plan accordingly. There's a lot of stuff on Jericho turnpike in that area. I'm sure you can google 'coffee' and find more than enough. If you feel like changing Roosevelt Field Mall is right there. You can get some shopping done :)
