*<3* QOTD 8/19 Part II *<3*

... because Part I just wasn't that good...

Registry question: Do you think you are being/will be a little EXCESSIVE when it comes to your registry?

Did you/ will you register for necessary items or will you go trigger happy and register for anything and eveyrthing your heart desires without a considering price and necessity?

Do you have the 'I don't care because I'm not paying for it' attitude?

ETA: Changed the word greedy to EXCESSIVE because it is not being well received...

No absolutely not. I am totally taking into price into consideration. I feel bad having people pay too much.

I've read in a few bridal magazines to register for more than you think is apporpriate. They said it would be more frustrating for guests to not know what you want and not be able to find anything in their price range. No one is going to think they are expected to buy more because there is more on the registry. I think I am going to agree with this philosophy when I register

I don't know if greedy is the right word to describe me.....I didn't really care about price when doing my registry, I mean I have something from $2 to $800 to accomodate everyone. But of course I want everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when we registered we picked out things that we needed. however we did pick out expensive things since other people would be spending the money on them.

I swear you were reading my mind... i was thinking about this when I saw the 'how much is your china' thread...

I feel weird asking people to spend a lot of money on anything for me... I've never been a frugal person, which is why im close to broke... and i feel strange asking people to pay $400 for a kitchen mixer that i'll never use... so im not going to register for it...

I think we were a mix of both. Although I dont think it is greedy.. both stores we went to said there is nothing more aggrivating to a shopper than to have nothing left on the registries. So we went a little trigger happy but also took price into consideration

When we were registering I kept saying ohhh no one would get this its too expensive and the girl helping us was like people want to buy you expensive things. but in todays economy an expensive item at bed bath and beyond is way over priced so I feel like I could get the same thing somewhere else cheaper.

We definitely went trigger happy, but we also have reasonable items on it as well. But my mentality is, if they don't want to buy it, they don't have to

ETA: remember, on the more expensive items (i.e. a Kitchenaid mixer) several people might go in on a gift together to buy it. Or very close family, or maybe even your bridal party.

I feel bad when people have to spend money on me... I have a severely guilty conscience like woah... so there is nothing too expensive on our registry. We purposely picked things out that were cheap, because I feel bad. The most expensive thing on our registry was the $300 mixer, which we ended up buying on sale for about $100 when all was said and done.

I totally agree. I am not going to register for really expensive things just because other people are paying for them.My FH and I are both at home, so I want to register for the stuff I know I will really need.

I have some more expensive iteams like the kitchenaid mixer for family, group gifts etc but we def didnt go trigger happy...the stores call me and tell me to regester for more stuff. We have everything we need on there bc we both live at home and I feel like that is enough since we dont know where we are going to live yet it made it a little hard to put want items on.

There are things on my registry that are cheap ($2.50 at the cheapest I believe) to very expensive ($400?). People can spend what they feel comfortable with...I'm not forcing anyone's hand.

I admit to being a little excessive. But, I have things in all price points. People don't have to buy the expensive stuff, but if they do, I'm not complaining!

we haven't registered yet but i don't plan to be excessive. I am going to find reasonably priced china...and in terms of everything else...we already live together so we don't need as much stuff....I will try to keep the guests in mind when i am picking items.

im picking what i want and what I can afford, not everything is super expensive but yes i am planning on putting some pricier things that i need, the way i see it whoever wants to give a gift can, they dont have to go for the uber expensive ones theyre are plenty of reasonably priced things that will be on there, i just dont think i should have to decorate and furnish my house with things that fit into someone else budget is all, as long as there is a range of prices for everyone i dont see a problem

I think overall, we'll be going with moderately-prices items. There will be a couple of things on there that will be higher-priced, and as others have said, if people don't want to buy it they don't have to, or a few people can get together and buy a higher-priced item.

'Course, we haven't registered yet so I don't know what it's like to have the trigger-happy adrenaline rush yet!

I dont think I even registered for everything I need to register for. I keep thinking of important things to add!!

A registry question!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We haven't been going crazy. We don't know where we're going to be living so chances are we'll be in a apt. We don't want to register for unnecessary things since we might not have the space for them.

I've got a range of prices I think... but think it is OK to register for more expensive items like the mixer because some people will want to buy you a gift as a group, or spend more money...

Plus, with Macy's there are always a ton of sales and coupons. I'm also at Crate and Barrel which offers a good range of prices.
