Registry question: Do you think you are being/will be a little EXCESSIVE when it comes to your registry?
Did you/ will you register for necessary items or will you go trigger happy and register for anything and eveyrthing your heart desires without a considering price and necessity?
Do you have the 'I don't care because I'm not paying for it' attitude?
ETA: Changed the word greedy to EXCESSIVE because it is not being well received...

Also -it's definitely the time to register for things you might not normally buy for yourself... these are going to be your 'nice married-people' things!!
And it's ok to be a little trigger happy ... gives people more choices!

i don't think i'm being greedy. fh and i picked out things that we like and need. if we were to buy all these things ourselves than we would def cut down, but we did look at prices and made sure it's not to crazy. but since it's just a list of things, why not put more so people have a choice. sure some of the things might be expensive but i don't expect one person buying it.

the first time we registered we went to fortunoff. it was ridiculous we registered for over $30,000 worth of stuff...a little EXCESSIVE....I would say A LOT!
then we cancelled everything and were much more calm! :) oy I and FH got a little carried away

Re: *<3* QOTD 8/19 Part II *<3*
i registered for anything and everything i wanted, including a homemedics shiatsu foot massager!!!!! LOL
HOWEVER, after i got home, i reviewed my registry and made a tally of all the gifts in the $0-10, $10-20, $20-50, $50-100, $100-200, and $200+ range and they are proportionately sound...
the majority of my gifts are between $1-50 (like about 100 somethin items, lotsa wishing well stuff n smaller gifts for those w/lower budgets)
then i have about 20 gifts from 50-100, about 10 from 100-200 and only like 2 from 200+
so i think thats completely reasonable!!!!!!! all while i still put anything and everything we wanted! (beer tender, wine refrigerator, foot massager, $550 dyson vacuum LOL)

my mom told me 'this is the only time in your life that you will be able to do this - so put whatever you want on it and don't worry about the price'

Obviously, I have mixed reviews about this only because I like to find bargains. I sometimes think it is ridiculous to register for something when you know you can get it cheaper elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, I am going to register for quality items because I want nice things, but if I find something in Home Goods for cheaper, (ie towels, pillows odds and ends etc) I would much rather spend my $7.99 on a Ralph Lauren bath towel then have a guest at my shower spend $20 for the same towel at BBB. I think everything is good in moderation.

FH & I plan to register for everything we need & want. This will give all of our guests a broad price range to work with.
No, I'm taking it very serious and just putting down the things I really want - I'm also making sure there is a range of prices...

I definitely registered for more stuff than I 'needed'... some of the stuff I have already but it's getting older. I want new bedding for instance... my stuff now will go in the guest room if we ever find a house... But I wanted there to be a enoughstuff in every price range so those last minute people don't feel like there was anything left for them to buy.... I fully expect that some of the more expensive stuff will be left after the fact but a lot of these places offer a discount to the bride a groom if they buy the stuff left on their registry after their wedding date... So if no one wants to buy me a set of $500 pots and I would never expect them too I can just go get 'em myself!!!

With the registry, I put on all items that we would need either now or in the future. I didn't put anything excessive on there, because we are not high price type of people, we put more practical priced items

FH and I registered for a honeymoon, but we'll have a back-up at like Macy's or BBB for small items and wishing well things. But nothing crazy...I can see FH getting trigger happy, but we would mch rather have a greater honeymoon than a gadget we won't use for a while...

I think I started out pretty conservative, feeling guilty for putting TOO much but now people are already buying a lot of stuff off of it soooo im going to get a little more 'excessive' and put some more wants along with the needs! I do agree that it is the only time you will ever get to do this sooo make it worthwhile

We havent registered yet-but we have already figured out that we just need kitchen items. So we will probably just register for those items.
I think FH thought that a milkshake maker was a necessity though........
And FH also thought that we should register for one item only at Best Buy (a big screen TV) and have everyone contribute to purchase it.
