I totally had a question picked out and then Of course I ran into a situation this morning with FH. So that made me think of my Part 1 question.

Is your FMIL going to be going with you for your makeup trial, hair trial? Go Dress shopping? Anything that has to do with just YOU, nothing with FH?

The reason I ask is because I have my trial for both hair and makeup this weekend for my party. I live downstairs from his parents and I feel that if his mom is there its like not my moment with my mother. I am close with his mother but I dont want my mom being upset that she has these little rare moments with me and his mom has to be involved in everything. I feel its not her place to be and she can see me when Im done. I dont see my mom everyday and I want this to be special for her. She is so excited to meet the girls that are doing my trial because if she loves them they will be doing the both of us the day of the wedding.

As for the dress shopping- SHe hasnt seen me with my dress, I do intend on taking her to my first fitting!
Another moment I had with my mom that noone can take that away.

I took her dress shopping with me the second time I went!
I will invite her to the 2nd fitting as well, when that time comes.

ice cream-Yankee stripes whatever (new edition turkey hill--vanilla ice cream with brownie chunks AND fudge swirl=amazing!)

ITA with you jenn! I love my FMIL and im really close with her but there are just some things I can't invite her to because it's supposed to be a private moment with my mom and I. So when I found the dress I told her about it but she hasn't seen it. Only my mom. I'm actually considering keeping it a secret until the day of from everyone except my bridesmaids and my mom. And she hasn't asked to come to any trials but I definitely understand where you're coming from. I did invite her to come to a few bridal shows with me and I'll decide what else when the time comes.

As for ice cream (yum!), my favorite is butter pecan

UGGGG the FMIL question.... No she will not be there for any trail stuff or dress fitting (well this part might change) I use to really like her and then i got a ring on my finger and she went insane. I use to think i would totally include her but now im stating far away.

I actually am not a huge ice cream fan.

Dress shopping was just my parents & my best friend. That was my time with them and plus I didn't need any more opinions haha
Hair & make up.... no, I'm probably doing those alone anyway... why have someone stand over you while you get made up? haha


Ice cream--cookies & cream!

Unfortunately, my FMIL who i get along with and love her sense of humor lives in Florida. She comes up to NY on average 2-3x a year but the odds simply are she won't be part of the planning in any way.

I will probably go shopping with her for her daugther's flower girl dress this upcoming holiday season while visiting.



As for favorite flavor? - Moosetracks. Vanilla icecream with fudge, mini-reeses and chocolate-covered peanuts. yum.

I don't think so.. I'm not extremely close to FMIL & I know my mom is having a hard time letting her baby go so I'm sure she'll want those moments to herself.

2) Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough or Dulce De Leche!

Nope...she is usy taking care of FH's grandma all the time so it's liek relief to her that I don't ask which works out. But she loves, loves, loves to see pics of everything and she gets alle xcited!!


Sometimes my fave flavor is Hagen Daaz Strawberry and sometimes it friendlys vienna mocha chunk.

No, my FMIL wont be involved in any of that. The only thing my mom will be with me for is when I go dress shopping!

Cookies and cream from baskin robbins is my fav! Yummy!

I didn't ask my FMIL to come dress shopping but I'll invite her to my fitting. As for make-up and hair, I also prob wont invite her to it but not because I feel it should be just me and my mom but because I really don't see a reason for her to come.

And my fav flavor of ice cream is chocolate!!!

FMIL will not be going with me dress shopping or anything else wedding related. Her and I have a good relationship but she does not seem to be interested. That's fine with me.

As for as my FMIL, im not that close with her as I would like to be. I hope to involve her in more things though like my fittings, dress shopping and etc.

Yes, you are not a weirdo! My FMIL came dress shopping with me and my little crew. She is very girly (unlike my mother lol) and has two sons, so she is very excited to be getting a new daughter-in-law. She even gave me a copy of the book about finding the perfect dress by Randy Fenoli and started religiously watching Say Yes to the Dress in order to prep for our trip to Kleinfeld's. She is too cute!

Also, I love Party Cake ice cream!!

I probably will invite her to the fittings, but i doubt to try on. unless we go to kleinfelds. She has 3 boys so she will never experience that (and she is a girly mom, which i love)

BUT she has an opinion about everything.. i dont know, i guess if we go to Kleinfelds I will take her w me since my mom will be there too

No your not a weirdo. I mean I'm very close with her. But even when I showed her a pic of the dress she said oh you'll prob find a better one. She's too opinionated and too much in everyone's business. I just can't have her knowing everything that I just want to share with my mom.

fmil has been involved therewhen we booked the hall and our band. Im def. Just having my mother come in to town and going dress shopping with just her. As for hair and make up ill probably go alone.

Ehh not big on ice cream

I think my FMIL will be with us at my house for make up and hair on the DO, but dress shopping is me, my mom & my MOH. I don't need anymore opinions either lol

Mine too! She's very nice and is willing to help if I ask, but I can see finding my dream dress & her telling me to it looks bad or too much like my FSIL's (who I don't like) wedding dress.
