This is not wedding related, but has been on my mind and I figured that I would ask everybody else about this!
Have you and fh ever thought about relocating to another state? If so, where?
We have, especially during these tough economic times we wonder if we would be better off living somewhere it is more affordable and somewhere you can get more for your money. We have thought of areas in VA, NC, and MD. No matter what we would have to live outside a city, especially coming from NY. Too rural would be a bad idea, we like to be active. I feel like it would be really hard though, especially leaving my family and my mom is like my best friend. Who knows, maybe the family would end up moving near us if we went!

well he used to work in northern jersey so we thought about moving there...but that doesnt really count its basically NY
FH always says we should move out to San Diego one day. As amazing as San Diego looks/sounds (i've never been there)...I dont know if I could move that far away from my family.

we think about it all the time.... I'm not sure how serious we are, but we do tlak about going down south or out to CA.

everytime we go away we plan on moving there in our heads but nothing serious. Although with the prices on long island idk it may be more of a reality someday.
Same with us!!! His parents have a condo in florida and when we go there we always talk about moving to florida, I love the warm weather

Yup... thats why i went back to school to get my bachelors... so i could teach and come back to NY for the summer...

Yes we've thought about it. We wouldn't go further south than Maryland. Although FH is really coming around to wanting to stay on Long Island so as long as we can make it work financially, we're going to stay here!

We actually began plans to move to the Poconos b/c all of my family is there and they've all pretty much adopted him as a long lost relative. But, honestly, it's really boring there with absolutley no night life! We would be bored stiff! Just last Monday, we went to Dave & Busters in Westbury at like 10pm and it was packed. Where else can you do that but NY?? Plus, I've already applied to grad schools out here...so, we're staying!

it has been mentioned when thinking and complaining about the housing and property tax prices here.......but at the end of the day, we would and could never move out of NY. All of our family is here and we could never live anywhere else. We are just too close to them and I think I would be depressed all alone in a different state. I guess we will just have to **** it up and deal with the taxes!

We actually moved to FL 2 and a half years ago. We are not planning to relocate as we bought a house here.

we always say how awesome it would be to have a much bigger/nicer house, but then we would make less $$ anyway and we would be the same but away from everyone. we both love warm weather and the thought of living in FLA or something is awesome but we both LI and i don't think we could live away from NY! also is bro got up and left for texas before we met, its so hard on his parents esp now with the grandkids. i know i personally could not be far my family, we are too close and i would be lonely not seeing them every week!

oh yes!!! my whole fam now lives in Florida... i have no doubt that within a cthe next couple of years we will move there(FH agrees) i just miss my fam to much!!!!!!!

Yupp we have. We talked about NC, MD, and FL...
I honestly don't see it happening though. I mean I couldn't be that far from my family and friends. I know I would make new friends too but I just don't ever really see it happening

I actually just thought about this yesterday since FH is having a hard time finding a full time teaching position.
I don't think we would relocate cause all of our family is in NY. We have a few cousins in other states but we're not that close with them.. The furthest we would relocate is probably eastern Suffolk (we're in Nassau right by Queens).
We are both educators, fh has a job and I don't. Hence the reason why we are looking out of state. It would be very hard, mainly because of leaving family, but I know that we would get through it and be able to do it.
