******3.2.10..QOTD*******

So today I'm off to go look at wedding bands with FH and I'm so excited..

So my question today is

**************** What does the wedding band and your engagement ring mean to you. Do you automatically remeber the day he proposed when you look at it? Do you think you will start wearing you wedding band by itself instead of both rings eventually ***********************

With FH and I being together for so long, for me to finally get that ring when he proposed meant so much. Whenever I look at it, to me it signifies the next chapter of our lives. I think I'm always going to where my rings together becasue it represents to me like our total journey together

Dude you ask really interesting questions! I like!

To me, the engagement ring is a symbol of his promise to me and my promise to him, to be faithful and loyal, to be a team, and to officially take on this long strange trip that is life with a partner at each other's sides. (I say 'promise to him' because accepting his proposal and ring means that to me)

I always remember the day he proposed when I look at it. It was the most perfect day!

We haven't yet picked out our wedding bands...I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing both together though. At least for now; if I land a job that I'm looking to get, it might mean not wearing my e-ring so that it doesn't get damaged.

will always wear them

to me they represent how long it took me to find love and what I found and have w/FH
each time I look at them (after thinking of 'oh man so shiny and pretty' LOL) I think of FH and with what love he got them for me

I will always wear both together.

but to me my e-ring represents a new part of our life together. when we got engaged we where already together for 8 years. FH had lost his dad just a year before we proposed so every time I look at my ring I am reminded about how FH was ready to start the rest of our lives together.

For me, I look at it and am like finally he is mine. LOL!!! We have been together for a long time so when Igot engaged I was just lke finally. Then again I was tired too because I had just had a baby so I think things would have been different had I not had a young baby. I would have def. been more excited. I am definately gonna wear both I love my e-ring. I hope I love the band just as much.

I LOVE my engagement ring and can't imagine going a day without it!!! I only take if off to clean and take a shower. So I will certainly be wearing it always with my wedding band

My band is pretty standaed to be honest. I love it but it wouldn't have been my first choice if we weren't so tight on money. Honestly I could see an upgrade one day to an eternity band like I really want. I would still take to to a priest and have it blessed though. Fh knows one day I would like an upgrade and he is fine with it.

I loooove my engagement ring and I hope that I can find a wedding band that will go well with it so I can wear them together.

My ring means the world. I was single (a serial dater) for about a decade and I finally found the man of my dreams, truly. What makes the engagement ring even more special is that it belongs to his maternal grandmother. So not only did Michael want to spend his life with me but his Mom & Dad felt the same way also.

I will always wear both!!!

I look at my e-ring and think 'Ooh sparkly!' Hahaha. Of course it brings back memories of his proposal (which gets me teary eyed every time) but I also just think about what's to come and I get SO excited!

And yes I will wear both of them together.

Well, it's my grandmother's ring, so it's special because of that. And yes, it makes me think about him proposing, and our future together and makes me very haaaaaaaaappppppY! I will feel the same with my wedding ring. Just a nice symbol of our everlasting love!

I think I'll wear them both all the time.

i hope i never stop wearing my engagement ring. the only time i can see that happening is when i'm pregnant cuz your fingers swell. but i hope ill get back to wearing it right afterwards.

i worked hard for it LOL

it means a lot to me. FH was engaged before and burned really badly by ex fiance. people didn't think he'd ever want to go through it again and i dont think HE even thought he'd get to that point again with someone. so i guess i'm awesome?

point being. it symbolizes his promise to me and mine to him to get this show on the road, people!
i'm so glad i have pictures of when he proposed so i never forget but as of now its still clear in my mind. i was beaming and giggling and so happy that my mom and grandma and brothers were there for it.

'shiny' as we call it is like the third party in our relationship now. FH is paranoid i will scratch it our bump it on something or the stone will fall out. i have to be like 'let it live its life!'. he got me a jewelry box for christmas so he could tell me not to wear it to bed at night and he frequently will ask on the phone before he goes to sleep if i put it away. 'yes i put shiny to bed.' LOL

i can't wait to start a family with him and that maybe one day, if i'm willing to let it go, my ring will be given to our daughter if we have one. otherwise, i hope the diamond will be passed down to grandkids.

I love my engagement ring and when I look at it, it reminds me how much he 'gets me'. We never really talked about getting engaged so when he proposed, it was a complete shock. My ring is pretty simple and classic, round stone and a simple setting. I was just shocked that he knew exactly what I would have wanted without having me tell him or show him. When I look at it, it just reminds me of the reason we are planning this wedding and that we have made a promise to each other. I don't have my band yet but i do plan on wearing them both together.

I LOVE my rings and really think I will be wearing both of them together for a long time. When I look at them, I get excited and think of all we've been through and all the memories we have yet to make.
