Re: 5 RECEPTION HALLS VISIT

So Im biased but Floral Terrace all the way. They are soooo great, so accomodating and the ballroom just blows me away! Everyone I have worked with there is so nice....im shocked that the one girl had a problem with them. I went in with my lowest quote from another place and they not only lowered their price, they beat the lowest quote and threw in some more for me!!!

Can't wait to have our wedding there!!!

how is the swan club?

Swan club was cute. The guy we met with was really nice. It's beautiful outside by the water, but it just wasn't what we were looking for.

Re: 5 RECEPTION HALLS VISIT

1. Coral House - went to wedding there a few years ago and it was very nice
2. Floral Terrace - Never been.
3. Westbury Manor - My friend had her wedding there two years ago and it was great, pricing is reasonable and service was wonderful.
4. Antun's of Westchester - never been to.
5. Antun's of Queens - I live not to far from Antun's in QV but never been to an event. On the Sept 22nd they are having a Bridal show and admission is free if you inquire about pricing for an event. Since I pass it on my home when I get off the train thinking about popping my head in just to look.
6. Swan Club - I loved and came close to booking my wedding there. The only issue I had was the ceremony space and the outdoor cocktail hour if it was really out on my wedding day other than that pricing was great and the grounds are beautiful.

Good luck with your planning!

Re: 5 RECEPTION HALLS VISIT

Coral House had great prices..I wasn't thrilled with their smaller room. Though they did show us the larger room and it was nice. We didn't do a tasting because we went late and the chef was already gone. Someone at my job had their wedding there and loved it

Swan Club..I didn't like the medium sized room with the split level (JMO) prices were good but I also didn't like the outside CH even if it rained and possibly walking past other CH's

WM, I loved it from the 1st time I walked in, left and went to look at other places and keep comparing so we knew it was the one. We are in the smaller room upstairs though

Re: 5 RECEPTION HALLS VISIT

The only one I had experience with is Westbury Manor.

I twas actually, MY first choice for venue, but two things worked against us:

Our party size:
For a Saturday evening in Sept, the largest room, the Manor room, requires a guarantee of 225 for a max of 300. We did not look at that room. The Garden room, medium sized room, is beautiful with access to the patio and you get run of the library and atrium for all of your party. They tell us the Garden room fits 140. That's a load of... I saw it set up for 125 and it was crowded. I wouldn't do more than 110 in there.

Our timing:

If you book the Gardenr oom on a Saturday, your party doesn't start til 8pm. This was not good b'c we have to have Viennese which means our party would go to 2am and we have a lot of people travelling from Brooklyn and EAstern LI. However, this might be a plus for another bride.

BUT the menu was fantastic, the grounds are stunning especially the outdoor coktail our patios... I died inside when I realized logistics were going to keep us from having our wedding there. The menu looks awesome, our BM was fantastic when we went for the consultation and the price was pretty sweet fro everything we would have gotten.. I'm jealous of all the brides getting married there.

Good luckw ith your planning, hope this helped.

3. Westburry Manor- LOVED the grounds, the room we looked at (their largest) we felt was too small for us and our BM was a little pushy while not caring. FBIL went to a wedding there and said it was nice, the food was great but he felt cramped and there were only 150 people (in the large room) we would have had 200.

This is interesting because as I said I didn't see the room but they want a 225 person guarantee on a Saturday night! So if you're saying it was crowded at 150, how do they do it!?

Re: 5 RECEPTION HALLS VISIT

I was in 2 weddings this year at Westbury Manor, best friend and FSIL. One had the large room, one the smaller, both weddings were great!!! The staff there is on top of their game and the 2 bridal attendants were beyond amazing. You def would not regret your decision. The grounds are beautiful for pictures and to get married there too if you wanted to.
