eeek...i hate these cleanse things...you only lose water weight and it comes right bck when you eat food! Agh. not good in my opinion!

That's not true. Yes, you lose a large amount of water weight at first but any diet where you consume less calories than you burn, you will lose fat as well.

Yes, you will see a large number loss on the scale. I did it for 9 days and lost around 12 lbs. Mainly because your body is empty of food and gunk in your colon and yes, water weight. But trust me, all the lbs did NOT come right back as soon as I started eating. A few yes, but that's to be expected since I have food in my stomach.

It actually took a while to gain it back and that's because I didn't keep up healthy habits.

I've done this cleanse several times for smaller 3-4 day increments and those 5 or 6 lbs, I gained back immediately.

ETA: master cleanse forum for really helpful info and support

That's exactly my point. You can't possibly sustain this type of lifestyle forever so therefore you gain the weight back. Even if you eat healthy and 'keep healthy habits' as you say, there is still such a defecit from literally starving that weight will come back. I am a big proponent of slow and steady and healthyw eight loss. I understand detox and cleansing your system but i don't think its the most effective mehtod of weight loss.

I was only refuting the statement you made that 'you only lose water weight' and that 'it comes right back.' That's just not true.

I 'm not trying to argue with you about something like this I think we are saying the same thing actually...since you said ' Mainly because your body is empty of food and gunk in your colon and yes, water weight. But trust me, all the lbs did NOT come right back as soon as I started eating. A few yes, but that's to be expected since I have food in my stomach. ' We are sayng the same thing. End of discussion on my part.

No, I don't want to argue either, people have been going back and forth about cleanses forever which is why I always tell girls to research it thoroughly themselves and make their own decision.

here's my view on this. be sensible about it. if you feel sick etc, stop doing it.

good luck to you on whatever endeavor you choose.

I'd love to do this for a few days to debloat. I don't think I would survive on it for more! I couldn't do it on days I work, I might kill someone! 12hrs on my feet requires real food!
