well with 8 days to the wedding we get a message at home from FH mom.. stating that she will not be coming to the wedding .. she had back surgery 2 weeks ago here in New york and this past thursday she was dicharged and went back home to North carolina.. the message said something about .. im sorry... the doctor said i need 6 to 9 months of recovery ... i love u both, i wish you the best .. i give you my blessings from here ... etc.. to my son ..i love you .. please forgive me .. etc.. please send me pics and video my souvenirs .. my flowers.. etc... (She is a real faker and drama queen sometimes) needless to say i started to ball only b/c i know that having his mom there ment alot even if they dont have that perfect relationship .. especially since . .he older brother, 2 nephews and one set of grandparents will not be there.. so now the only one from his family coming to the wedding is . .his dad.. and his sister who is one of my BM..
When FH got home i had him listen to the message and of coarse he is not one to ever show he cares.. well as he was hearing the message tears began to roll down his face.. and then i started to ball as well..
PLEASE SEND US YOUR PRAYERS THAT SOMETHING WILL WORK OUT AND THAT HIS MOM WILL COME FOR THE WEDDING...

Remember this is YOUR day to become husband and wife. Focus on YOU and your HUSBAND to be. I know it's hard and I can understand the hurt. This is about you two becoming a family. Try to focus on that.
I am so very sorry for the pain that this woman is causing the two of you. May she live to regret her decision....

My heart is breaking for you guys. I would try and contact her and let her know how FHis feeling. I don't know what her situation is but maybe offering a flight ticket would help her out. Maybe she can just go the ceremony and then go to someone's home or hotel to rest.

I guess i'm gonn be the mean one here. What kind of mother has back surgery 2 weeks before thier son's wedding? I know for a fact that it takes weeks and months to recover from that kind of surgery. Anyone with a brain in thier head would have put it off. If she really cared about her son like she says- back surgery would have been last on her list. It didn't bother her back to fly back to NC from NY after the surgery.
I have a FMIL just like this. It just pisses me off. Don't pretend to love your son but do nothing to show it. That action speaks louder than words is BS- you say it and show it.
I'm so sorry about your FH being so upset. If I were you I would call her up when FH isnt home and give her an earful. She needs to know how selfish she really is.

I started getting tears in my eye as I read your message. I feel so bad for your FH. I can't believe his mother. That is ridiculous! I pray that she makes it but if she doesn't I pray that he can forgive her because I wouldn't be able to!!!!
