8 days to the wedding and guess who is not coming

well with 8 days to the wedding we get a message at home from FH mom.. stating that she will not be coming to the wedding .. she had back surgery 2 weeks ago here in New york and this past thursday she was dicharged and went back home to North carolina.. the message said something about .. im sorry... the doctor said i need 6 to 9 months of recovery ... i love u both, i wish you the best .. i give you my blessings from here ... etc.. to my son ..i love you .. please forgive me .. etc.. please send me pics and video my souvenirs .. my flowers.. etc...
(She is a real faker and drama queen sometimes)
needless to say i started to ball only b/c i know that having his mom there ment alot even if they dont have that perfect relationship .. especially since . .he older brother, 2 nephews and one set of grandparents will not be there.. so now the only one from his family coming to the wedding is . .his dad.. and his sister who is one of my BM..

When FH got home i had him listen to the message and of coarse he is not one to ever show he cares.. well as he was hearing the message tears began to roll down his face.. and then i started to ball as well..

PLEASE SEND US YOUR PRAYERS THAT SOMETHING WILL WORK OUT AND THAT HIS MOM WILL COME FOR THE WEDDING...

Im in tears now. I swear some people only care for themeselves. Who leaves that type of message on an anserwing machine. lots of hugs

that's so cruel. If it were a 'normal mom', she would have STAYED in NY to ensure she could attend. Even if she could only go to the ceremony.

your poor FH. What a jab that must be. Luckily, he can depend upon the new woman in his life!

If it were me, I wouldn't address it with her. I'd let it go. She likely won't come up, and clinging to hope would only deepen the emotional damage....

Have you spoken to her doctor? He might suggest that as long as she stays off her feet she can still attend?

Aw you made me cry! I hope she changes her mind, maybe call her and tell her there's a ticket waiting for her should she change her mind! Hope it works out

I am so sorry, I feel so horrible for him to not have his mother there is heartbreaking no matter what the relationship they have.

I'm so sorry.. that's really hurtful to hear especially on a machine.
She didn't even ask to stay in NY, maybe someone could have helped her w/ recouping for the next 10 days till the wedding?
Even if they put her in a wheel chair, if it's too painful too walk..

If she likes drama/attention she can get more at the wedding where there will be people around telling her how wonderful she is to get out there to support her son.

I feel your pain...FH dad called him when he got the invitation and said how come I am not listed on there'? and FH said because mom is helping to pay for it (mind you this man has not been in his life much since he was 16 years old...he is now 30) and his father said oh ok...well I am not coming...

We were sitting in IHOP and I burst into tears but FH acted like everything was ok, even though I know it hurts so much...if you want to ever FM feel free, since we are in similar boats (and both March brides!)
