9/28 Wedding

Hi ladies- I am so sorry that I have not finished my review of our wedding. Work has been crazy but at least I still have a job so I shouldn't complain :) I give you guys the quick version: We had our rehersal and dinner on the 27th. The Printer's Devil in Port Jeff was wonderful and I would highly recommend it! It all went great and our bridal party loved their gifts and cards! On the 28th- myself and my bridal party had our hair (I also had my make-up) done at Hollywood hair in Mt. Sinai. Everyone's hair looked beautiful!!! I loved both my hair and make-up.(9am) It was weird b/c I am normally a very high stress person. I thought for sure I would be a royal b**ch that day- but I was very calm and relaxed. My bridesmaids and mother were all worried about me. It was strange. I wasn't nervous or stressed at all. Anyway- we then went to Danford's to get dressed and eat (my mom got a suite there). The day was beautiful. It was about 65-68 degrees and very sunny. I could not believe it!!!(12am) At 1pm my flowers were delivered- I was real nervous about how my flowers were going to turn out- I had nightmares all the time. When they arrived they were gorgeous!!! Just what I wanted. We used Malkames Florist in Port Jeff. I noticed that a card was attached to my bouquet. At first I was really confused- I noticed that the envelope was one of our response cards (it had my pre-printed name and address on it) I opened it up and it was one of my response cards but it said 'Mr. & Mrs. my husband name' will gladly attend. I opened it up and it was a note from my husband- it was so nice- and I cried and so did everyone else in the room. I found out her went to the florist the day before to drop it off. The photographer came at 1:30pm. We used Steve at Patken. He was great! So much fun! We took lots of pictures at Danford's with the girls and my parents. We left for the church at 3pm. We used M&V Limos- the limos were very nice as well as the drivers. They upgraded one of our limos to a white 10 passanger Jaguar the day before so that was really cool!!! i was nervous at this point but i was still ok. the ceremony was awesome. our priest was so wonderful!! he spoke with such passion- everyone loved him!! my legs were really shaking in the beginning!!! i will write more in a few mintues- technology is coming up to do something to my computer...

9/28 wedding continued....

Thanks for all the congrats!! We got married at St. James Episcopal Church on 25A. After the church- we went to Cedar Beach. It was just about sunset time so the sky was gorgeous. We took so many pictures- for anyone using Steve be prepared that he will ask you to lay on the ground, in the sand on top of each other...etc... My advice is do it!!! We got our proofs back this week and they came out great!!!! I was a little nervous about my dress but I am glad that I did it. My dress is now a mess but it was definately worth it!!! I was a little nervous when we had first planned our wedding b/c our ceremony was at 3:30pm and the reception didn't start until 7pm. But it worked out great. By the time pictures were done at the church and everybody left it was 5pm. I found out that the Meadow Club let people start at 6:15 with the cocktail hour. Which was awesome b/c many people drove around Port Jeff for a while and then just went to the Meadow Club. We got there at just about 7pm. We went to the bridal suite upstairs with our party. It was so nice to relax with our closet friends and eat and drink. The hour went by so fast. I kinda wished I went down during cocktail hour and saw how it went- but it was nice to relax. The Meadow Club did a great job making sure we all had enough food and drinks!! the food was even better than I had remembered it!! Our DJ (which I might have mentioned before) was GIT. They really did a great job. Our MC was so cool. Everyone really had a good time and danced. One of my biggest fears was that no one would dance but they did!!! My husband and I did make a big effort to dance together as well as with our friends. You are never going to get to see everyone there- so don't stress out about it. Enjoy your day as much as you can!!!! The Meadow Club did an amazing job on my cake. It really looked like something from a Martha Stewart magazine. I couldn't believe it!! I need to scan some pictures onto the computer and when I do I will send some. We really didn't eat that much just b/c there didn't seem to be too much time. I felt like I always had a drink in my hand but I did not even get a buzz. It was just FUN!! Enough about the wedding- b/c as you can tell I have nothing to complain about!! The only thing I can say to all of you is- don't stress out too much b/c it will be great no matter what!!! We went to Aruba for our honeymoon. Which was the most amazing place I have ever been!! I would highly recommend it to anyone. The island is beautiful, clean and everyone is so nice. It is the time of place you can do nothing at and not feel guilty or you can do lots of tourist stuff. we combined the two. if you do go- do not do an all-inclusive- b/c one of the best things about Aruba is the resturants- they have such great atmospheres. if anyone wants anymore info on Aruba- please email me at [email protected] as i mentioned earlier we got our proofs back. they look so nice!! patken sends them to you in an album and you get to keep all of the proofs. the beach pictures are great. they look like they came from a magazine!!! now it is over--- it was a great experience---i am glad that i will never have to do it again!!! good luck all of you-- it's worth it!
