A couple of questions for the ladies who are already married . . . . .

A couple of questions for the ladies who are already married . . . . .

Were you or FH late for your wedding?

A few people we know who are already married and a couple of our vendors have told us that chances are we WILL be late for our own wedding. FH & I do not want to receive this because we believe that we will be right on schedule and everything will start on time.

I wanted to know how many of you actually started on time and how many of you were behind schedule and why? Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the hall charge you for overtime if you are late (we are getting married at our hall)?

Nope---we both were early for both the church ceremony and reception!

The ceremony started a couple of minutes late because my mom spilled champagne on the front of her dress right before! But our bridal attendant cleaned it up quickly and we got the show on the road.

We were a little late because my cousin's husband had to come pick up their girls to bring them to the church. He was already at the church helping my cousin set up for the wedding. But it really wasn't a big deal.

We started on time for both Church and Reception. I'm not sure about OT at the Reception, but I do know of late fees at the Ceremony.

our invitation said 11:00 am start. We planned for an 11:15 start. We started at 11:40-11:45 b/c the STUPID A$$ driving the luxury bus filled with my 56 of my guests showed up late at the hotel AND got lost.

nope, we started 15 mins late because one of the limo drivers had called out sick and they had to find a last minute replacement. and because they were 15 mins late, i couldnt take pics at the alter of my Church because the stupid bridezilla who was having her rehearsal after my wedding decided to show up early!!! if i ever find her she better cross the street and run in the other directiont!

so in total, i lost 30 mins of picture taking time! still a great day though!

I wanted to be on time at 9:30 am when the ceremony was to start. However I was a little late getting makeup done, and then the limo driver drove a little slow for my taste. But everyone waited for me...

We started late.

The limbusine picked up the guys at 12:45 to get them to the church by 1:30 for a 2pm wedding and then pick me up to get me there by 1:55.

The hotel/reception was 25-30 minutes away from the church. The limbusine driver took the longest way possible (454 to Jericho Tpke to Rte 110 to get from Hauppauge to Huntington Village - instead of possibly taking the expressway that the hotel was right near) and it took them an hour and fifteen minutes to get there.

By the time the limbusine came to my house, it was already the time that I was supposed to be at the church. We got there about 15 minutes late and then didn't know what to do. The person who was singing came down a few minutes after we got there and then started the processionals.

If there are alternate ways to get from point A to point B and one is clearly better than the other, don't assume that the limo driver will know that (especially if you use the same company I did because I know carolinebr used them too and she was late as well).

11:01AM, we were already walking down the isle right on schedule.... we also attended 80% of our CH.... despite having the ceremony end at about noon, and the CH beginning at 12:30....

hair appointment was at 7:15 (we were 10 min late). we left the salon ontime.

pictures were before the ceremony, with a few pics on the docs during the CH.

I think you only get charged overtime is you go over the allotted time you have scheduled. If you start late I do not believe there is any additional fee. If there is a wedding after yours, however, they do have a right to shorten the ceremony.

We were right on time. DH actually got to the church at 4pm (5:30 ceremony) b/c he wanted to make sure everything was ready. The limo pulled up in front of the church at 5:15 and at 5:30 I was walking down the aisle.

Our officiant was late so the ceremony started 10 minutes late. Believe me, I was freaking out because lateness is my biggest pet peeve. In the end it all turned out okay though.

I was worried we'd be late but we were right on time. Someone actually told me we were early (that's because they were late). I was standing with my mother ready to walk when some friends of ours flew past me to get to their seats before us.....guess they thought it wouldn't start on time either
Bridesmaids already walked out and I was next, my Bridal Attendant/Maitre'D turned to me to show me his watch & it was 3:05 and he says 'my watch is 5 minutes fast...I always start on time' I'm glad we did...people were sitting in the sun...no need for them to sit there any longer than expected.

We started 15 minutes late because the limos ran alittle late.

I was early so they made up do a lap around the block of the neighborhood because I couldn't be early to my own wedding....it was a Friday afternoon and people were coming from work!!! It was fine. We ended up starting on time though!!!
