A Day in the Life....OF YOU !

Even though we posted what our 'jobs' are, we never really got a good look at what everyone really 'does all day'..
It would be interesting to see, what all of our daily lives are like. What does your job entail ? What daily routines do you have ? Do you like them/hate them ?
Teachers, (which i'm most interested in!) - Jenn and others, what do you teach, what style of teaching do you have ? Is there anything 'special' that you do for your students that they LOVE, anything about you that we dont know ? (LOL thats a funny question because we've just about told it ALL here... )
EVeryone else, with all the interesting jobs that you do, tell us a little about, A DAY IN YOUR LIFE....

I'll start...

Being a SAHM is ALOT more work than I ever thought it would be..(hey, even staying home WITHOUT a baby is a JOB in itself !)

Right now, my days are not in any routine, since the baby is still young (8weeks)... But I'll try...

Feedings can be every 2-4 hours through the night.
6-7am - I am up for the day. Feed the baby, and then prepare myself a cup of coffee and toast or cereal, or oatmeal...
8-10am - make my bed, jump in the shower to get my day started (ok this one doesnt always fit into the morning routine, sometimes its after DH gets home from work! lol).. If John Anthony is content with sitting in the swing, I may throw in a load of laundry and check some email really quickly..
If he is fussy or giddy, I have fun and cuddle and talk to him for a few hours, and just lay there with him...
11-2pm - IF he takes his 3 hour nap (not routine yet), I can get some cleaning done. If I was up ALOT for feedings, I may just take a nap with him..usually Im woken up by the phone or just my light sleep, to check on him...
Some days, at this time, I will do a grocery run, and maybe a few other stores nearby..which when lugging a carseat takes a bit longer than I'm used to!

3pm-While I fold laundry, I'll watch Dr. Phil, and get some dinner going..
4pm-While im cooking dinner, watch Oprah or the news (if her topic stinks, lol)...
5-6pm- DH gets home, we eat, I clean up the kitchen, load the dishwasher, maybe throw in another load of laundry...
after this I am usually just doing odds and ends around the house since DH is with the baby...

Oh, and in between all this, are his feedings every 2-3 hours, I am nursing and giving him formula, so depending, if i give him a bottle its 20 minutes or so, if i nurse him (which im trying to do much more of) it can be an hour or more (they 'hang out there' for comfort in addition to eating)...oh and the poopy diapers and sometimes poopy everything, and change him head to toe, and baths about 3 times a week...

Of course this is not my every single day routine, some days are busier and more tiring, and other days are more bumming around (like today!) and watching the snow out my window !

Anyone else wanna chime in and give us a peek at their everyday life ?? (maybe more exciting than mine ?) - just kidding, as much as the isolation can get to me, seeing John Anthonys smile makes it ALL go away ! and I get phone calls from friends, my sister, mom, MIL, and old coworkers very often, so I am thankfully 'socializing' in one way or another...oh and of course you WONDERFUL gals !

WOW!!! My day is much more boring than that so I won't bore you ladies. At my desk in front of my PC working all day sums it up.

i won't bore everyone with the details of my job ( i am also on the PC all day), but i will say that i used to get a lot more work done during my day before i found this website!!! LOL

Well, Im a Special Ed. Teacher at a high school. I LOVE it. I used to work at the elementary level, but I LOVE the high school so much better. I truly LOVE what I do, and look forward to going into work

Hmmm...well I work 3 nights a week from 8pm-8am but try and throw overtime in when I can, extra$$$$. So, my nights are spent working, my days are spent sleeping, or addicted to this site!

Anna, I just wanted to say that you totally crack me up and sound a lot like me -- not the home with the baby thing, just you in general!!! You talk/write like I do!!! I always said that they should do a story of my life -- not that it's all so exciting -- it's just that all sorts of things happen to me that would never happen to anybody. I said it would be a comedic/drama!!! LOL

I'm getting dismissed -- nice of them, huh? It's only almost 4 and there's already 10 inches outside, but whatever!!!!!

DKGA- I'm with you... I work all day on a computer, however, after a co-worker showed me to this site... I'm not sure how much work I actually get done! lol

I am in advertising and don't really do much work. I take long lunch breaks, shop online and hang out on LIWEDDINGS all day! And occasionally I bill a client!

ME? well, I'm a Special Ed. first grade teacher. My DH and I work in the same building so don't gag on this one, but we leave together for work each (well, most) day and come home together. The highlights of my day are trying to get objects unstuck from my children's fingers, ears, and noses. Other than that, we have a lot of fun at school and I'd never change a thing!

MY DAY

Wake up, shower, ect.
Wake Patrick, have breakfast together
Go to work...
Spend my day answering questions that truly have no answers, unclogging glue bottles, hugging, explaining why we CAN'T play in the snow, for the umpteenth time...
Have lunch and talk nonstop to GROWNUPS
Back to the rugrats (honestly, a day in the life of a teacher is so multifaceted that I can't even begin to go into EVERYTHING, but it's NEVER boring, that's for sure! )
Go home to my Arnie Baby and an otherwise empty house
cook, clean, log on to LI Weddings

I always wanted to be a teacher, I swear I read that post and am envious! I see sick people all day - many who have had a sore throat for like 40 minutes and think I can magically cure it!!

Anna ... here you go:

Usually wake up late and rush around to get to the LIRR, read over hubby's shoulder on the train (why pay for the newspaper 2x's) until Jamaica, sleep on the train from Jamaica to Brooklyn. Hop on the 2/3 to Wall Street -- get to work, eat breakfast, read email, check LIweddings, analyze people's salaries or new benefit plans until the computer clock says 5:00 - hop on the 2/3 to Brooklyn, take the LIRR to Jamaica and meet hubby to go home! Unless it's a Tuesday or Wednesday, where I hop on the 1/9 and go to school!

Nothing exciting huh? ...
