A favor

As you all know my father is in the hospital and he's not doing too well. So I'd like to ask you all to remember him in your prayers, I'd really appreciate it.

I've always told people that the holidays can be as depressing as they are happy and this year I'm eating my words because I'm happy that it's the Bear Cub's First Christmas, but then I'm very depressed about my father!

This should be a happy time, but I just can't get into the whole thing and Christmas is now up in the air for us.

I'm the strong one in my family and I don't let them see me when I fall apart -- I do that when I'm by myself -- and it's been kind of hard trying to be strong for my mother and my sister and my father, when he's saying stupid things like 'so long' and 'I'm not going to be around'. I start yelling at him and I sound like a biotch, but he needs to start fighting and he just doesn't want to anymore. So then I get angry that he'll just give up that easily -- he has 2 beautiful grandchildren to see grow up, not to mention his wife, daughters and son-in-laws!

I just want to go to sleep and wake up and find it was all a bad dream. Either that or like I told JennRenee, I need a drink, a valium and a vacation, all in that order!

Thanks for listening. I'm probably going to try and leave work early today -- that's the other problem, I have no time left, so I'm stressing over that. And I'm also stressing over who's watching Gianna -- my mother hasn't been able to and my MIL, who I couldn't stop from coming in while I was home, isn't coming this week because of the weather!!! When I need her, she's not here, when I don't, she's up my butt! So Joe's grandmother has been watching the Cub -- hello, she's 86!!! Granted, a young/hip 86, but 86 nonetheless! She's really good with her and I think it's revived her because she's been taking care of her son, who at 54 has a rare form of alzheimer's! If it's not one thing, it's another....

Thanks again -- you gals are the bestest!!

Re: A favor

Aw, thank you all so very much!!!! You brought tears to my eyes, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your support!!

I just spoke to my mother and my father has pnemonia (sp?) and is in a better frame of mind right now. He's going to be getting 2 blood transfusions sometime today or tomorrow because his hemoglobin is way too low. And the cardiologists are conferring about what to do about inserting a defibrilator in him to regulate his heartbeats.

I've been dealing with my father being in and out of the hospital since I'm 8 years old -- I'll never forget being in the dr's office watching my sister, who was 4, while the dr was SCREAMING at the nurse to get the amublance there STAT! I think after all these years of this, I've become immuned and I always know he's going to pull through and be fine. I don't know about this time -- and I can't believe that I just wrote that. I also will never speak that aloud -- nor will I ever say that to my mother or sister or even Joe for fear that it'll happen.

I just want my father to be around for my daughter. He loves his Gigi (as he calls her) and she laughs and smiles at him as soon as she sees him.
