A favor

Original post by bearsbabe_113

As you all know my father is in the hospital and he's not doing too well. So I'd like to ask you all to remember him in your prayers, I'd really appreciate it.

I've always told people that the holidays can be as depressing as they are happy and this year I'm eating my words because I'm happy that it's the Bear Cub's First Christmas, but then I'm very depressed about my father!

This should be a happy time, but I just can't get into the whole thing and Christmas is now up in the air for us.

I'm the strong one in my family and I don't let them see me when I fall apart -- I do that when I'm by myself -- and it's been kind of hard trying to be strong for my mother and my sister and my father, when he's saying stupid things like 'so long' and 'I'm not going to be around'. I start yelling at him and I sound like a biotch, but he needs to start fighting and he just doesn't want to anymore. So then I get angry that he'll just give up that easily -- he has 2 beautiful grandchildren to see grow up, not to mention his wife, daughters and son-in-laws!

I just want to go to sleep and wake up and find it was all a bad dream. Either that or like I told JennRenee, I need a drink, a valium and a vacation, all in that order!

Thanks for listening. I'm probably going to try and leave work early today -- that's the other problem, I have no time left, so I'm stressing over that. And I'm also stressing over who's watching Gianna -- my mother hasn't been able to and my MIL, who I couldn't stop from coming in while I was home, isn't coming this week because of the weather!!! When I need her, she's not here, when I don't, she's up my butt! So Joe's grandmother has been watching the Cub -- hello, she's 86!!! Granted, a young/hip 86, but 86 nonetheless! She's really good with her and I think it's revived her because she's been taking care of her son, who at 54 has a rare form of alzheimer's! If it's not one thing, it's another....

Thanks again -- you gals are the bestest!!

Re: A favor

It seems like they are planning on doing this procedure tomorrow!!! Now I have to see if I can get off and reschedule my GYN appt, which was rescheduled from last week because I got Aunt Flo -- this is my post- post-partum checkup -- like I need to be doing this again! I thought I was DONE with that!!

Anyway, hopefully after he has this thing done, he won't suffer w/the chest pains anymore and get back to being his usual grouchy self and not the depressed grouch he is now! And my hubby is just like him, so they make a good pair!! I left one grouch to marry another!!

And to make you all laugh on another note -- GUESS WHO JUST GOT TO MY HOUSE?????

JennRenee, I KNOW you'll guess......

Not for nothing, but the answer is my MIL!! Now, she didn't/couldn't come down yesterday because she said the weather was bad and was expecting all this snow up there -- HELLO IT WAS BEAUTIFUL OUT YESTERDAY!!! So instead, she comes down during a nor'easter???!!! Am I the CRAZY ONE?????

This makes no sense to me AT ALL and what bothers me is that my mother finally got to watch the baby today after not being able to w/my father in the hospital -- I thought it would be a good diversion for my mom to be w/Gianna and then we'd go to the hospital later and she's happy to be w/her. Now, not for nothing but, when his mother comes in -- and before I get flamed for not sounding appreciative, which believe me I am, I have to explain that my MIL has become an obsessed nut w/the Bear Cub and is a bit of a Baby Hog, if you get my drift -- she wants the baby and now my mother was there and they're all going upstairs to Nanny's to have tea. Isn't that nice and cozy, but excuse me, I told them all before I DO NOT WANT THEM TAKING GIANNA UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS, but does anybody listen to me???? NOOOOOOOO

I'm going off on fifty tangents right now, so bear w/me. The other thing that has been pi$$ing me off and I keep telling Joe to tell his grandmother this -- I CANNOT STAND WHEN THEY KISS THE BABY'S HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And especially now because Gianna has discovered her hands and is CONSTANTLY sticking her whole fist in her mouth and sucking away!!! Why do people find the need to kiss that hand when it's going in the mouth?? I never touch a baby's hand and HELLO, I DON'T EVEN KISS THE BABY'S HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm her mother, I can if I want to!

When Joe tells her, she gets mad at him! I've even said real nice, 'look she found her hands. We can't kiss them anymore' and she just laughs.

Oh my nerves! I'm telling ya, I need a friggin drink.

I hope he is OK and I am praying for him. I totally understand you about people touching the baby. You are her mother and they should respect your wishes. Babies have little immune systems and you are trying to keep her safe and healthy.
Please let us know how everything turns out.

Oh, can you kiss her for me. I just think she is so cute! I love her name and told my husband that name sounds so good with my new Italian last name!

You have your hands full, Deb!! Your father is in my thoughts.

P.S. What I hate is when STRANGERS touch Sean. His cheeks, his head...his hands. Hello!!?? OK. That's my vent.

Deb, I agree about everyone touching and kissing babies. UGH, remember my post on kissing kids on the mouth (when theyre toddlers and older) I dont know who people are that think they can do that It irks the crap out of me and God help anyone who does that to my children. THE CHEEK, thank you very much!

Well it sounds like your little girl is having a day full of loved ones squabbling over her

I hope your dad gets better fast!
