A good topic for everyone add on to, I think!

Things to know BEFORE the wedding....

Jr. BM's bouquets are smaller than the BMs'. Think of the size of the girl, not the age.
Florists don't always make different bouquets
for BM's and MOH. Tell them!
Photographers do not follow lists of pics to be
taken on their own. Someone should be in
charge.
Ask WHAT TIME during the wedding day
payments are due. Our Limo drivers were
rude!
Limo drivers do NOT come with driving
directions
Tulle and acetate ribbons (the kind used for
pew bows) hold up well in rain. Decorate the
ourside of your house days in advance.
Suggested amounts of tips are just that. Tips
should be based on quality of services
rendered.

I will add more as I think of them.

And, if limo drivers decide that you owe overtime, even if the lateness is due to them not knowing where to go, they still refuse to leave your hall until you give them the extra money.

Also, even though you pay for a 'lace aisle runner' doesn't mean your getting a fabric aisle runner, you may end up with a paper aisle runner, so make sure you specify the fabric.

And, paper aisle runners rip. And, once they're ripped, people can trip on them-during your ceremony- it may even end up on film.

I just realized the same thing about Jr. BMs myself, this is why I plan to give them the kissing ball as their bouquet.

The best advcice I can give is to talk with your photographer, be VERY VERY specific, dont assume they know what you want, show them pictures and be very very sure they know. The worst advice I read on here was to NOT give them a list, I read that it only confuses them. GIVE THEM A LIST! You are paying thousands....its ok to give them a list!

Aliciahelene, you are SO right!! No one should be shy about telling him what you want. Unfortunately the last weeks before the wedding is always crazy. This is not something that should be left for the last days. We never found the time for making thorough lists for the photographer. Those I did write down, were not even taken, so that's another story. I don't know if my daughter gave the list to him or her coordinator. I also later realized he took nothing creative at home of the bride or of us helping her get ready. I am surprised to remember that he didn't even take the basic ones of me fixing my daughter's veil, of her putting a courage on me or a boutennier on her dad, that kind of thing. Nothing of the invitation with her bouquet....you know, the ones you would put at the front of the album. All he did was pose her infront of the French doors with my flowers behind her in the yard and to took pictures there with different people.
AFter saying it a few times, he took us out to the front of the house, and I don't think there was anything interesting there either. Not even of her as she was stepping out of the door. Simple things I would have done, and I'm not a professional. He still had us in a line posing. I'm expcting to be very disappointed with the proofs. Plus we got his largest package and my album alone will have 50 pictures. I'm really crossing my fingers that he came through in the church. He did do a good job at Old Westbruy Gardens, but later at the reception he had his two assistants take over and I didn't see him once taking a picture of anyone. When I asked where he was I was told he went out to buy film. At that point you stop worrying and want to enjoy yourself.

I hope you are happy with your proofs. Who did you use? Someone from Long Island?

Just take a moment with you and your dh the day of. Just a quiet moment to reflect on the day. It will be something you will always remember.
