A Happy Discovery!

I keep my wedding budget and savings schedule in an Excel spreadsheet. I have what we budgeted for all our vendors vs. what we paid and then a separate spreadsheet on the monthly deposits to our wedding account and how much we'll have saved by May '06. (Yes, I'm anal ... you can say it.)

All along I was worried because even after saving for almost 2 years, my budget said that we would have to kick in an extra $2,500 at the end. WELL, last night I realized that I never subtracted the deposits that we have already made. So, in actuality, we'll have a little over $5,000 left over that we can throw towards the Honeymoon, which isn't included in my wedding budget. WOO-HOO! What a relief!

That's wonderful!!! And you're not anal, my budget is set up in a spreadsheet almost exactly the same way. (of course if it was exactly the same way, I too would have an extra $5000, but no such luck )

Ha-ha! Sorry!

I'll be engaged 2 years when I get married. We purposely gave ourselves that extra time so we'd have all the money up front. After the wedding, we'll turn our wedding fund into a house fund. It never ends, does it?

Here's something else I bet you didn't take into consideration....(because trust me, I did!)

Most of those last payments that have to be paid in cash can partially be taken care of by your 2005 income tax refunds!!!

Actually, I had planned on tossing some of that into my fund so now it can also go towards Honeymoon. I'll have to do taxes early next year so I get my refund back before wedding.
