how about a 'Through the years' theme...
and similar to what someon else posted about the 1 yr, 2 yr, 3 yr.... anniversary prizes... What about also raffling off some Pieces of nostalgia...

or, since LIW is 'entertainment' (and an addiction, but obviously, you cant have an 'addiction party) , do an entertainment theme... raffle off DVDs, blockbuster GC's, movie tix, trips to Hollywood, win a night w/ a famous person, LCDs

i thought about this but didnt know if it would be possible as some recent ppl don't go all the way back to day 1 of LIW (with the exception of Ron/Liz and co). but i do like the idea of reflecting back on yesterdays

I just read thru all 5 pages and let me just say... WOW! I never realized how well some people here really knew each other and how funny you all could be. I have not been an overly active poster, but read almost every day more than once a day! I can't beleive how helpful everyone is!
I digress...
How about a carnival type thing (dunk tank if you were serious, I would put on a wedding dress and get in!) or maybe even a game show type theme, where you do give out the 1st, 2nd, 3rd anniversary presents, like someone earlier mentiong(paper/gift cert, cotton/bathrobe) but, like someone else said, make them work for it! You could do newlyweds game, LIW Jeopardy, Family Feud.... and have different prizes not only fot the winners, but smaller prizes for those that had the courage to particpate!
This is long but what do you think?

i agree. out of the majority of people who are on the site now- the 'longest' LIWers are since 2001... and even those people ar few and far between... but i think of it more in the general sense, like as far as favors/ prizes- 1st anniversary is generally 'Paper'.. so raffle off something relating to that (whether that be tickets to a show, airplane tickets , And money is paper too, RON )... something like that.

But, yes... i totally agree with the poster above that there should be games included (though i hate carnivals )... but game show type games, maybe. The more interactive, the better

OH, and i think it should be open bar, but thats just me

how about an annivarsary party, like you do for WOTY.
and you can have 10 special raffles/contests on for each year:
year 1 = paper maybe a gift cert
year 2 = cotton maybe bathrobes (orsomething like that)
year 3 = etc........

All of these ideas are great!
I dont know if the other newlyweds would be up for it, but I would love to wear my gown again and it can be like a fashion show!

You guys crack me up!

I was thinking that since it will be around Christmas, maybe Ron could contact the agency and find out what gifts the families are asking for. We could set a price limit. Each couple could bring a wrapped gift for the family (or something along those lines!)

Any new developments, Ron?
