a little bit sad

a little bit sad

Maybe I'm saying too much...but I feel like sad that people that died cant be at my wedding. My dad passed away suddenly when I was 16 and I've learned to deal with it, but lately, its been creeping up on me. Sometimes I see my mom when Im at work and I explained it to her-she thinks its repressed feelings coming back especially since Im planning a wedding etc. And Im taking it out on Carl and I feel really bad.

Has anyone been thinking about this type of thing? Like a family member who passed and wont be there?

I'm so sorry to hear this. I can't even imagine losing my father, especially at such a young age. Even though it's easy to feel sad about people who can't be there, you should try to think about all the people who are still around and feel lucky you have those people who love you and can't wait for your special day. Also know your dad and those other people will be watching you on your special day and hopefully making sure that things go perfect for you the whole day!

Thanks...honestly, I cant say I was over it but its almost 10 years ago since it happened, but lately with the wedding planning etc its just been bothering me a little bit.

One of my uncles said he would walk me down the aisle(my godfather to be exact) when he suggested it, I also had to mention that He was my Godfather. And he didnt even remember! So I was like please you never even bothered(thinking that in my head!)

I'm so sorry for your loss, Donna. I cannot relate but I did loose my grandfather, (who i was very very close to) 8 years ago. I always think of him and i know its going to be hard on my wedding day. But i know he will be with us in spirit, and know that your dad will as well. When the time gets closer we are all going to be here for you if you need to talk!

Yeah, for me it's my mother. She passed away 12 years ago. It upsets me that I won't have her to be there when I try on dresses, etc. My aunt acted excited when I said I was engaged and said she wants to be there when I try on dresses but it's just not the same.

He does....but sometimes(well alot of the times I have to put the shoe on the other foot) I think...how does HE feel when I get like that?

I am trying ever so hard to not feel sorry for myself

My aunt whom I mentioned is sick will not be at my wedding. She is in the advanced stages of cancer and their is nothing they can do for her. She has always been my protector even though my mother is still living. But, it will pain me that she will not see me walk down the aisle.

I totally know how you feel my grandpa passed away in 2000. My parents both worked full time jobs so my grandpa was my caretaker for most of my life

it was really ahrd when he passed away and i find myself crying sometimes when i think that he will not be at my wedding! It's really hard....cause he was such a big part of my life....i wanted him to walk me down the aisle! I was thinking of doing some kindof memorial to him at the wedding but i havent put much though into it cause i get really upset when thinking about it!

I can't relate for myself, but my FH's grandpa died about two years ago and his grandma had a heart attack last week so now it's been upsetting him (and me) that there's the possibility that she may not be here too. We try not to think like that...but when she had the heart attack it's just like a lingering thought now.

Hey look at me I passed out at my FH's Aunts buriel who I do not even know...just from watching the buriel.

My thing is my father died june 2005...we were best friends and he was the ONLY person in this world who understood me. I didnt cry much when he died I went into business mode and caretaker mode. And a lot of people felt at the time I wasnt dealing with his death...I WASNT at ALL to be honest. But lately I have REALLY been feeling...I hate telling my FH how my father was and what he use to do...I know my father wouldve LOVED this man! Not that last JERK off he met. But anyways...It's definately getting hard just thinking about my daddy not being at my wedding or even being in my childrens lives. So I definately understand what u mean....

I'ma huge daddy's girl and I just want him to be there with me that day to have the lil dance we always dreamt and teased about. But I think I'm learning to cope with it now...it may seem late to say that but I am. If u ever need a ear or an EYE in our case dont hesitate to FM me...it always helps to talk to someone who's in the same shoes as u!

Well I am sort of in the same situation because my father is fully disabled and we dont know how much more he has left. I just hope he can hang on for 2 more years and more.

I'm going through that right now....of course you are going to feel this way because they were very important people in your life and it's your most important day...just know that they will be there with you and you can always do something in the wedding that will include them as well....sending you hugs ladies!!! I know exactly how you feel
