A little disappointed with sister
I have a hair trial this Saturday and my sister was going to be at the house while I get it done. One sister I knew said that she had plans but would let me know if she could stop by. My other sister all of a sudden said that she and her husband has to do things around the house that he needs her. She was going to bring her tiara so I could use it for the trial. The reason I'm a little disappointed is that when it was time for her wedding, we killed a whole day with the dresses since it was out in NJ. When I went with her to a hair trial, I even broke plans with FH. I just thought she would show some curtisy to that. I don't want to sound selfish, but when I went to things for her, I thought she would do the same for me. I hope she could just drop by her tiara tomorrow. Please tell me if its silly to be disappointed in this.

First off,
Second off, you are not silly at all to feel this way. Doesn't it S*CK when you go out of your way to make someone feel special and it's not returned? I think all of us girls can say we've been enlightened this year to the friendships/family relations we thought we had - some better than we thought and some worse than we thought.
I'm very sorry your sisters don't see how much they need to be there for you Saturday.

It's totally understandable to be upset. I would be. Can't she even just stop by for a little bit??

One sister I knew had plans. She said she's going to try her best to come by.

That's what I saw too. I think her husband will be ok if she's gone for 2 hours. I know that they're having a halloween party on Sunday. So who knows, maybe they have to get the house ready.

You are totally not silly!
Sometimes I get so tired of always doing for everyone else and people not having the courtesy to know when they should be there for me (on an everyday basis). Thank goodness I haven't had any major problems with that yet- wedding related.
Maybe you should say something. Not make a big deal out of it, but just mention something.

When I make these appointments, I even ask if its good for them. I know things comeup, but oh well. Times like this, I wish my mom lived in Ny where she could do these things with me.

First, I don't think you're being silly at all!! I can totally sympathisize about the Mom part. Mine lives in Florida and I can see it's going to make some things very tough. I think you should say something to the one who has to get the house ready. You're not asking for all day, right? If she really can't be there, can you invite a friend?

I don't think you sound selfish at all. I don't think doing 'stuff around the house' is a good excuse to break a commitment you had with your sister. She might not think much of it now, but I better she will feel bad about it at a later time. Sorry she backed out on you.

Re: A little disappointed with sister
NO- We get sensitive to everything at this time - it's normal. My sis was suppose to go to my dress trials and backed out to go somewhere with her boyfriend, no biggy. I got over it. At the time it seems so bad but time passes and we forget. Hopefully she can pass by with the Tiara though.

Re: A little disappointed with sister
I think you have every right to be dissappointed with your sis. That kind of a let-down is never easy - I think we all have some experience with that. But know that we are all very excited about your trial and dying to see pics! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow!

I would also be very disapointed.
I think it's really sweet that your FI might stay...mine would have to be chained to the wall to stay!
