I guess FarenHYPE wasn't as influential as MM would have liked.

Yes, MM exercises free BIASED speech.

Nothing in the Constitution that says he has to offer unbiased speech.

Re: A little hope for those disappointed by the outcome fo the election

Free biased speech was not intended as a put down. I watched his films very objectively yet I walked away feeling as if he showed 'his' side of the story.

Nothing in the Constitution that says he has to offer unbiased speech

True but he has teh ability to reach alot of people who think his rhetoric is fact so IMO if he wants to bring some sort of resolve to the issue..present both sides.

Re: A little hope for those disappointed by the outcome fo the election

I have to say this is pretty funny. Esp the show tunes and fresh water comments.

He def has a right to say whatever he wants but he also fails to include some of the other facts about this election:

That Bush is only the 16th president I believe to get elected to a 2nd term.

That Bush won more votes than Clinton and Reagan also.

That despite a liberal media, Dan Rather's phony documents scandal, a 20 million dollar movie made with the purpose to destroy a sitting president, Kerry's charges that Bush would reinstate the draft and MTV continued to hone in on this to try to scare young voters and mothers, Osama in October trying to sway the American voters and on and on. ..

In spite of it all, Bush won by 3 million+ votes.

Poor MM - he is a sore loser again. I think he just needs some hugs

He is not trying to bring a resolve to this situation. He posted this on his website for those that were feeling let down by Tuesday's election results. He was offering hope for those of us that have lost a little, not trying to bring resolve.

MM does reach a lot of people, but he has the right to not be unbiased just like the rest of us. If people are careless enough to blindly believe his or anyone else's flilms/books/etc. then they should be blamed not the messenger.

As always I agree with Heidi 100%!

And it's not about being sore losers or not accepting it. We have to accept it, there's no other choice, but a lot of Kerry voters feare Bush and fear the direction may be going on (we have a COMPLETELY different mindset than most Bush votters. it's two toally different outlooks), so this letter is meant to be funny, but it's also meant to say 'hey. have hope, keep fighting..your fight is not over, your ideals have not lost the long war, just this one battle'

America IS divided.. Denying ti won't change that, and there IS a culture way going on if you ask conservatives. Our nation IS divided. We're red states and blue states, and we think SO differently and ahve such different outlooks on life...

Re: A little hope for those disappointed by the outcome fo the election

Main Entry: 1war
Pronunciation: 'wor
Function: noun

2 a : a state of hostility, conflict, or antagonism b : a struggle or competition between opposing forces or for a particular end c : VARIANCE, ODDS 3
- war·less /-l&s/ adjective

I believe that this describes exactly what is going on in our country right now.

Re: A little hope for those disappointed by the outcome fo the election

Of course America is divided - even in the so called red/blue states. I live in a 'blue state' but didnt vote blue. But, by calling it a 'war' makes us even more divided. At the end of the day, we are all Americans and even Kerry said we should work to unite right now.

This country is divided becasue everyone wants to be RIGHT..without a compromise on many issues which is sad since none of the issues are cut and dry.

I am more then happy to compromise, but on the issues that are important to me the President has not offered any sort of compromise. When he does then I will be more then happy to listen.

I completely agree with you. Now he's talking about how he has a 'mandate' from this narrow victory. I don't want to be negative but it doesn't bode well for the next four years for those of us who disagree with how the country has been run over the last four years; it looks like more of the same...

Re: A little hope for those disappointed by the outcome fo the election

I think this is a really different election than before...I mean in 96 people voted Clinton in, but I think it was people who prefered clinton, and people who prefered (who was it, dole?), it wasn't like this year, which I feel is people who HATE BUSH and people who love him/like him... I don't think there';s every ben an election (in recent history) where people had so mcuch fear for what would happen if their candidate were to lose.
