I know that this is just a shameless bid for sympathy, but I need some good vibes. FH and I need to have a long talk about many things tonight and I think it might get very ugly. I just need some hugs and support.

Re: A long talk...
Thank you everyone for your hugs and support and big, sloppy good vibes! We talked, I cried, we talked some more, he cried a little, we talked a little more and things are okay. I don't know that they'll ever be solved because, as someone said in an earlier post, money really is the root of all evil. It's always about who has it, who doesn't, what you're doing with it, what you should be doing with it... it's exhausting. My attitude towards money is very different from FH's and we butt heads about it regularly. We have the same goals, but very different ways of getting there. Add to that remodeling his apartment so that I can move in (as well as miscellaneous and non-descript familial issues), there's a lot of emotion and stress involved in this. I'm still angry and stressed, but I feel better for having talked and I'm trying to keep my eye on the prize. Also, I told FH that until the remodeling is finished, I get 3 more chances to cry. So thank you again ladies, I appreciate it!
P.S. Wendy, I'm holding you to the monkey.

So sorry I didn't get a chance to give you hugs before the big talk (damn the time change!!!) But sooooo glad you worked things out!!
Don't worry, things'll work out and you'll look back and think that wasnt' so bad!
The other night DH bought a lottery ticket and actually justified it by saying 'Hey, you've got to be in it to win it!'

I'm so glad to hear things are better!!! And you should get many more than three chances to cry before you move in... unless, of course, that will happen tomorrow

I am glad to hear that you were able to talk it out - thats half the battle - its obvious that you two care enough about each other to work through your issues - Communication is the key to marriage and it sounds as though you've got that! Good Luck with everything!

Re: A long talk...updated!
i'm glad to hear that things went well - sort of. money makes people crazy and if you can recognize that you need to scale back your wedding, you are taking steps in the right direction. good luck my friend and just hang on for dear life if that is what it takes.
