a question about readers for a Catholic mass...

I hope this doesn't sound stupid but how many readers do you need? At first I thought it was just 2 for the first 2 readings. But then I thought about the 'Prayer of the Faithful and the 'Responsorial psalm'. I asked a few people how many they had and some said 2, another said 3 and 1 even said 4. If I need more then 2 then I have to ask some more soon. Hope somebody out here has an answer to this.

If its only 2 then who reads the P of the Faithful and The responsrial psalm? The priest or does the same person do 2 things?

I've usually seen 3. THe 2 readings & the prayer of the faithful.
Not sure about the psalm. . .good question.

We had 3...one for the Old Testament Reading, one for the New Testament Reading and one for Prayers of the Faithful.

Our Priest did the rest, we didn't have any other options.

I think the prayer of the faithful can also be sung - so we are having 2 for each of the readings, then having the prayer sung

We are doing the same thing. Our cantor will be singing the responorial psalm.

we had 3 (OT reading, NT reading and Prayer of the Faithful). Our soloist sang the Responsorial Psalm

We have 3...same as all the other girls, but then we have 4 presenting the gifts to the altar.

That brings up another point. How many gift bearers do you have? I was only planning on 2, are there suppose to be more?

I don't know if this helps...but...

I am only doing the ceremony and my priest says it will last 45mins.

I have a choice to choose 2 or 3 people for each readings. I am choosing 3 people.
