I'm planning a June 2008 wedding and just called my reception site and my date has been taken! Original date was June 29th. I figured since I have some teachers coming that they'd be out by then, now I'd have to move it to Sunday June 22nd. I don't think teachers would be out by then. Would this be a problem? Three of my BM's are teachers and they said no problem but I don't want this to be an issue, what are your thoughts?

Re: A Question For Teachers
Honestly, if it's a Saturday, the day before should be their last full week with the kids... honestly, the last week of school is not intense, and many schools do half-days the last week and some may not have students the very last day. (I know my last day is teachers only, no kids). i think you should be fine....

I don't think it would be a problem at all...that last week is usually just straightening your classroom

Re: A Question For Teachers
I'm a high school teacher and can tell you: If they're high school teachers, that's Regents Week and there's nothing to do - no grading, no lesson planning - it's practically vacation already. A Sunday wedding would be no problem.

I'm a teacher & I wouldn't consider it a problem... Even if you had a Sunday night wedding-- It's the end of the school year-- It's not like the kids are doing anything the last week of school anyway!

Re: A Question For Teachers
I'm a teacher, and I'm getting married in May 2007. Planning a wedding while teaching is a little hectic, but I really wanted a spring wedding, and didn't want to be confined to the two monthst that we have off. One of my bridesmaids works in a school also. I don't think it'll be a big issue.

Re: A Question For Teachers
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! We reserved the date!! All you said exactly what my sister mentioned (a 3rd grade teacher.) It's good to know everyone had the same thought! Plus some of my friends are Catholic School teachers so they should be out earlier too!

Hey AlBaBride, my sister (the teacher) got married at Sans Souci last year. We had such a great time there. I saw you are using Silverfox, so did she!
