Okay so FH used to work for a promotion company and that company used to work for one specific club. He worked with them for 5 years and recently quit (about 3-4 months ago). Anyhow, one of the owners of the club is getting married and we had been invited to his engagement party and we also invited him to ours. Well, his wedding is next weekend and about a month ago we realized we had not gotten an invitation. We figured that maybe they had sent the invitation to our old address and just never contacted us for the new one SOOO FH texted the groom and said, hey, just wanted to let you know we never got an invitation because we moved and the groom told us that he had it and that we should come and pick it up (he couldnt resend? but anyway)
SO, when FH goes to the club to pick up the invitation he overhears the groom telling his assistant JUST GIVE THEM MY BROTHERS INVITATION in a nasty tone. FH quickly retreated back to where the groom couldnt see him and then when he was given the invite he was told that they lost the outer envelope with our address and names on it (again, weird, but we didnt think anything of it)
SOOOO, yesterday night FH sees one of his old business partners and basically finds out that the groom didnt invite a bunch of the old promoters who no longer work for him, so now we feel like we werent really invited in the first place but kind of put the groom in an awkward position.
SO, my question is this: do we still go (even though I feel SOOO stupid) or do we not go and just send a gift?
Sorry this is so long!!!

Yeah, I know....we did bring it upon ourselves but we did not think that we would NOT be invited. I mean, we are not inviting people to our wedding that we invited to our e-party but thats people who RSVPed YES and then just didnt show up.
Okay, so do we send a FULL amount to them? Also, do we still invite them to our wedding?
i dont think you did anything wrong...normally if you are invited to an e-party then youre invited to the wedding, its what people expect and this is why they say not to invite people to an e-party that you dont plan to invite to the wedding. He is the one who did something wrong so dont feel bad. I know if i were invited to an e-party, im going to expect to be invited to the wedding.
hmmm i think i know what club youre talking about, im wondering whose getting married ok not the point nevermind
if you feel uncomfortable then dont go. I guess see if you bump into him soon and how he treats you, if you feel better after seeing him then maybe go but otherwise dont

I would not go, but then again so many people will be there that you know, so you will have a blast. Get wasted and have a great time don't even sweat it.
Go and have fun! Who cares, if they really didn't want you to be there they would have made up some other excuse.

Denise, you DEF know what club and Im not trying to blow up spots AT ALL, but I mean we never expected NOT to be invited because we were at the e-party and we even SPOKE about the wedding plans with the groom only a few months back--he even recommeded his photographer to us!!
But yeah, I dont think we are going to go, but we will send a gift.

Re: A Small Dilemma--Opinions Needed
It's an awkward situation. I mean, how do you know he considers FH as one of the 'old promoters' and if he really didn't want you guys there, do you think he'd still give you the invite? Wouldn't he just make up some excuse or something?
Is FH friends with this guy outside of promoting for him? If not, is there really a need to go especially if they're really not going to see eachother anymore now?
Maybe FH should just ask, man to man, kinda like Well I overheard that you didn't want to invite any 'old promoters' so I understand if thats the case, but I'm a little confused here lolz..
