Yey I love this thread

I notice a few people saying 'street size'-- Do people usually wear bigger gowns than regular clothes? I'm a 22/24 (in pants, slightly smaller in shirts)- what size dresses should I be asking for when I go in?

I'm a size 24 in pants. I tried on a size 24 Alfred Angelo dress and it was too big. They ordered a size 22 and it fit perfectly

now you have me nervous. do you think i should go back and have them measure me again to be safe?

Are you going by your measurements or did you try on the dress? I was lucky enough to try on the dress in a size 24. So, I could see that it was too big for me.

i tried it on in a 24 and it was slightly snug in the waist, but not too much

Does the dress come in a size 26? If so, I would order that size...JMHO. It can always be altered. You want to be comfortable on your wedding day

Personally, a size is just a number.

I would rather have them take it in than have to add a panel to make it larger (who knows how that would look).

yea. i know. and we kept it at the bigger size because we would rather have to take it in. i just needed that piece of mind knowing that it wouldnt' change the look of the dress if it did get taken in.

Taking it in for just one size (or less) won't make a difference in the look of the dress

JMHO

Where do I get undergarmets? I bought a james clifford dress and had to buy it 2 sizes bigger than i am in street clothes. I need undergarmets and I don't know where to get. I have big boobs haha Is anyone getting custom or just buying from the store? Also, do you recommend getting a crinoline or just putting fans in the skirt? I want to be comfy and i dont want so many layers on.

Girls, do you know if Maggie makes plus sized dresses?

I find myself falling in LOVE with them, but fearing that they aren't made in my size

My favorite is the Grace Kelly. I went with the maker Bonny. Dress is in my photo album. Bonny's go up to size 32 which is awesome for bigger girls!

Hi guys,

I am dreading dress shopping. I'm a size 16/18 street size. I've been looking online and LOVE enzoani dresses (sweetheart a-line type dresses). Anyone know which bridal shops have Enzoani with dresses that I can actually try on? I had FH call Charisol in flushing but it would need to be ordered... wish I could try on Enzoani in my size :(
