A thread just for PlusSize Brides

We got our first no today. I'm sorry they can't go -- but it makes my life easier. It's someone from my office and now it means I have a perfect work table -- otherwise I'd have 2 too many.

I got the cutest outfit today from Macy's to wear to either my shower (hopefully someone is smart enough to give me a good excuse to get dressed up!) or my bachelorette.

Hey Amy, I'm glad the 'NO' worked out for you. I am finally getting some. RSVP date is Sept 20 so people better move their arses and mail their responses back! What are they waiting for

How was everyone's weekend? FH moved into our apartment, we went grocery shopping...it was so much fun and so tempting to get unhealthy food! I snuck some chips into the wagon only because I had such a craving! Once in a while isn't so bad!

My weekend was great! Is Kara back from her honeymoon yet? I want to see pictures from the wedding!

Hi girls! My weekend was great -- we had such a good time in Boston. Today is my fitting -- I can't wait! Although I feel like a bag lady with all the stuff I brought with me -- veil, shoes, undergarments, headpiece, etc.

I don't think Kara is back yet. I haven't seen her online! I hope she isn't getting hit too hard by the hurricanes in Barbados!

OK! Don't kill me!

I don't have pictures froom yesterday. The dress is so big and long (I'm only 5'1') that they have to cut it at the waist, and take off the beading on the bodice to take in the sides and front. A little scary -- but I trust them.

I have another appointment on the 22nd, and I promise to bring the digital camera then. It was very exciting to see everything together though. When I'm home and FH is not around, I need to take pictures of my headpiece and veil for you guys.

By the way, the undergarments worked perfectly!

What's everyone else up to?

Our weekend in Boston was great -- it was nice to get away in the middle of all the wedding hub bub.

Tonight we are going to view our wedding bands again. Hopefully they will be closer to what we wanted so we can move on to the next step.

We ordered our rings the other week. We wanted a lot written in them so we had to have them hand engraved which meant the guy had to go into the city for that. He didn't want to go when they had the Republican convention so he had to go this week. I'm hoping they came out ok.

I'm sure they will be great. If you don't mind me asking, what are you having written in them? We are struggling with what to say -- that's brief!

Our rings are custom to match my e-ring which is a solitare pear set between 2 celtic trinity knots. The wedding bands will be the trinity knot repeated around, set between 2 rails of white gold. FI's ring will be just white gold, mine will have pave set diamonds set on both rails on either side of the knots.

It's a pretty neat process because Elsa's Rings did the design first in wax, and then in gold. We were a little dissappointed last time we saw them because the knots didn't pop out as much as we expected, but when we went last night, they had polished and buffed them more, and now they look great! Next step is to set the diamonds and we can probably see them in about 3 weeks. I'm really excited about them now!

I got a band with diamonds to match my engagement ring (that's not engraved) and our regular silver bands match. Ours both say 'Swept Away' 10/23/04 but mine says CC & RR and his says RR & CC. We wanted to make sure we knew whos ring was whos. His is a 1/4 smaller than mine so you can imagine how hard it will be if we didn't distinguish. 'Swept Away' in case you were wondering is our song

It was a tough decision to make because there were so many things we could have put in our rings but that just sounded the best.

Anyway, my plans for the weekend:

Tonight, BBQ at our MOH and BM's house. I'm looking forward to this because its probably the most relaxing thing planned for the weekend.

Tomorrow we are going to a 50th Surprise Party for FH's Aunt -- could be a ploy for my shower, but I don't think so. Since I don't know when my shower is, I told everyone I'm dressing up every Saturday and Sunday until it hits. I refuse to look like a schlep at my shower. I have two outfits lined up and I'll just keep alternating them!

Saturday night is my good friends bachelorette party -- we're going to dinner in Island Park and then drinking and dancing at Brideview Yacht Club. Should be fun!

Sunday we either going to Southampton, or helping our friends who are moving next week. If we end up in Southampton, I'm bringing all those damned bells and enlisting my Aunt's help to put bows on them!
