A thread just for PlusSize Brides

Original post by aimerliny

I thought it might be good to start our own thread. We're all in the same boat, and we can help each other find things we need, vent about issues, support each other's diets.

Anyone interested?

Have you checked eBay? Or a place that does more custom t-shirts?

This site does custom shirts and has large sizes ... up to 6x. Kinda of cute..if you don't see something you love, maybe they can customize it...they work with photos so you could always design something yourself and send it as a photo.

Thank you!!! I'm so completely in love with my dress. I told FH he's going to have a problem on the wedding night because I won't want to take it off!

Thank you! I can't wait to see the pics myself, she really was great, and the day was beautiful. We're getting the coffee table photo album, some places call it the flush mount.

My shoes were fine! No sore feet! Everyone loved them, all the bridesmaids wore them too. Only a few blips in the day, but it was great for the most part. I will post more pics when I get them.

FallBride, your dress is beautiful!!

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides

Girls I am debating about this dress. I tried it on and it looked gorgeous and I think FH will love it. My only problem is it's a Maggie Sottero and has a lace up back. My issue is that the lady tied it really tight so I wouldn't feel like I was falling out of the dress. The problem is it was so tight in the back that I kind of hang over the dress. I'm worried that the day of all I'm going to be thinking about is how much of me is hanging over. The saleslady said it was because the dress was not the right size and a dress in the right size will fit me better. I don't know. Any advice? Sorry this is so long.

if they order you the right size, you should be fine. with my dress, the size I tried on was too small, but I was really WOW'd by the dress and it fits just fine.

I have the exact same situation. I believe it will fit fine when its in your size. I just ordered my Maggie dress last month so its not even close to being in. But here are pics of me in the store sample size 12/14....they ordered me a 20 to fit my boobs. Is this how you 'hung over'???? If so....I would still order it...in your proper size.

Yea the sample was about 2/3 sizes too small so the saleslady said in my size it would be fine, but also it's a lace up so she said I would be able to make it as loose or tight as I want. If it was looser I wouldn't have that problem. I'm just worrying about ordering the dress and it coming in and still not fitting correctly. I guess I will go for it, I really love the dress and if I feel self conscious there is a wrap that comes with the dress. Thanks.

Yeah she tied my back up pretty tight too to keep me 'in'...but she said that when its in my size all will fit perfectly.

It's great having a corset because its adjustable to your comfort. I had on a strapless bra (which I never wear, I only wore it so I wouldn't feel naked while trying on dresses) and the dress had so much support I honestly could wear that filmsy bra if I wanted to on my wedding day.

I think you will look beautiful in that dress......anything 2/3 sizes too small for you will never look right. Have faith! It's a Maggie so its quality!!!
