I'm beyond upset, besides the Dr. who has a terrible bed side manner and scared me half to death, I just found out that my biopsy is abnormal and I need a LEEP procedure...Has anyone been through this?

Re: abnormal biopsy
Hey there, I have a friend who has gone through this, she is fine and was nervous about it initially too but turned out to be just fine after the procedure. I believe it is quite common.

Pap was abnormal and then the biopsy was not normal and now I'm having the procedure (LEEP) to remove the abnormal cells..

Re: abnormal biopsy
Yes, I've had the LEEP procedure done before. I'm not gonna lie to you, it's not a comfortable experience. But you know what, its necessary, it doesnt take too long, and its actually a lot more common then you would think. I know about 8 other girls that have had it done.
You will be okay. I had mine done this past summer and I've had good paps ever since. Believe me, it's for the best.
If you have any more personal questions, just FM me because I'm not shy talking about this.

OOOh, that. I know quite a few people who have had that...and it has all turned out fine. You will, too.
If you don't like your dr. can you switch?

Re: abnormal biopsy
I've had it too. It really isn't a big deal and it doesn't hurt terribly or anything. Just a bit uncomfortable. I also know a few other people who have been through it and all were/are fine!
You'll be fine, I promise!

Same thing happened to me. I had it done a few years ago, and I havent had a problem since! I didnt know much about it at the time and was sooo scared. I cried for weeks because I thought I had cancer and no one explained what was going on to me. (I was in college at the time) If you have ANY questions, feel free to ask!

Re: abnormal biopsy
i work for a medical company and we actually sell LEEP or LEETZ medical products. they are one of our most popular products, which means that it is a VERY common procedure. You will be ok and ill be for you

Re: abnormal biopsy
i had the same thing about 2 years ago. i was so nervous and scared when i found out, but everything has been normal since then. for me, it hurt a bit.. it was like a really really bad period cramp but other than that it wasn't too bad. i'm sure you'll be fine!

Re: abnormal biopsy
I almost had to go through this after I had my daughter... I know how hard it is to relax and NOT get upset over.... Thankfully I didnt have to get it but I cried for days, I thought I wouldnt be able to have children again, etc... As hard as it is, try and stay calm.... Maybe you should get another doctor, if you are uncomfortable with this one? Either way, youll have to get it done... Ill be praying for you.. Im sure everything will be fine!!!

My friend had this and everything was just fine. She is normal, no cancer, etc.
In the end she ended up having PCOS which may or may not have been related to the abnormal pap. But she's a healthy person and you shouldn't freak out!
