abnormal biopsy

Original post by toniscott

I'm beyond upset, besides the Dr. who has a terrible bed side manner and scared me half to death, I just found out that my biopsy is abnormal and I need a LEEP procedure...Has anyone been through this?

Good Luck. I am sure you are nervous (I know I would be) but all this extra support and people having it done must be a little reassuring.

My old co-worker had it done as well. She is healthy and has a beautiful baby boy!

I had it and I only found it uncomfortable for a brief moment......everything has been fine since. I just go every 6 months to keep an eye on things........I hope it goes well!

I was told I have diabetes with the same emotion one would give to the statement, 'Looks like it's about to rain' I went to my car and cried like a little kid for 15 minutes.

Please please please get a second opinion. Sometimes mistakes are made. My mom was told 'you may have breast cancer' and it turned out it was a faulty mammogram machine! The doctor even sent an official letter of apology.

Good Luck

biopsy of what????

I had an abnormal breast and had to have a lumpectomy...but I don't know what a LEEP is?

Here's some for you.

Pap was abnormal and then the biopsy was not normal and now I'm having the procedure (LEEP) to remove the abnormal cells..

I cant imagine what youre going through

Yikes! that's crazy..On another note, I have a very good relationship with the chief of the Diabetes institute at Beth Israel Medical Center- if you ever need anything FM me, seriously I ran a construction project for him that went smoothe and fast and he's forever greatful. Otherwise, thanks for the feedback, and I'm considering a second opinion.

Thanks for the reassurance!! From what the girls on here say it seems pretty common, I'm going to try to put it out of my head and enjoy the holidays

One of my bridesmaids recently had this done and her recovery was only a day or 2. I just called her and she said it wasn't bad at all. Unfortunately a lot of girls have to go thru the stress and this procedure and thankfully very often it turns out to be fine (you can receive an abnormal pap from tampon use). I will be praying for you that you have a speedy recovery with no pain and that everything turns out fine!
