Has anyone tipped their contractors after the job was done? I was just asking as we just got our windows, siding and roof done and did not tip our contractor and he kind of looked funny at us after we paid him the rest of the money. Was I expected to give him a tip? He made ALOT of money off of the job and he owns the company? Thanks!

My DH is a contractor and he rarely if ever gets a tip.

Thank You. I feel so much better. We usually tip other people who work with things for the house (furniture, oil burner, etc) but these people don't own the company.

We are definitely not tipping our contractor when they are done. Please, I've paid enough money already.

Speaking as a contractor myself I never expect to get tipped and rarely do I except for some homeowners buying lunch. It is absurd to expect one after people pay all this money for construction. You definately should not feel funny.

Thanks! The job cost way over $10,000 and I know he was making a profit on it. I just wasn't sure if that was expected or not. We have never had anything done on the house like this. We hope to get a new kitchen so we are going to hire him again for that. Just waiting for that raise for my dh and hoping no other bills go up before then to take away that money!!
