OMG. OMG I NEED HELP! I just got a call from someone telling me that WaterView Club, my venue, was getting evicted (4 months before my wedding!!!). I only was able to get a busy signal when I called, and in response to an email to my maitre de, I received THIS from the owner:
There is an issue between WaterView Club and the landlord. We are working on a resolution. We know it is unsettling, please give us a few days and we will have answers
I already put down a lot in deposit, but more importantly, where can I find a place that has my date open in 4 months from now!!??
Please help! I need advice!!!

Thanks for showing me the newsday article. At this point I still haven't rebooked, and I am yet to have any hope of getting my money back. I looked at the newsday article on their website and I'm so disgusted by some of the comments these losers write! Are there so few nice people out there? http://www.newsday.com/long-island/towns/couples-file-complaints-against-bayville-venue-to-recoup-wedding-deposits-1.5128985#disqus_thread
Don't read the reviews. I don't care what the topic is about, any newspaper online readers are the worst with their comments. Just remember they are people with no lives and they think they are funny.
Ask the LIW girls about their feedback and you will see nice people.

ABSOLUTE WEDDING CRISIS
I wrote this in another post but it really belongs here:
So as an Update to my whole wedding-venue-closing fiasco, it seems my options are 1) keep my date and have the wedding at metropolitan. Or 2) change the date to the Sunday night before and have it at crescent beach club.
Any suggestions are appreciated! I need to make this decision ASAP as my wedding is now in under 4 months! Thanks in advance

If you want the beach feeling still, I would say move it to the Crescent Beach Club but definitely make sure your vendors are all available for the new date before making the decision.
If your vendors are more important to you than your date and location, I would say move it to the metropolitan.
Maybe make a pro and con list to help you and your FH decide what is best to do.
HTH!

Both my brother and our best friend had their weddings at Crescent Beach Club - it was great! The food was great - it's on the beach... good luck!

I am sorry that you had to go thru all that, I pray that Watermill will be able to give you at least part of your payment back.

Go to the Vendors Helping Brides board. A manager from the Crescent Beach Club reached out looking for affected brides. Good luck!

Both venues are great! I would check with all vendors to see if they are available for the new date. If not, stick with the Met. Both places are nice. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Good luck!

ABSOLUTE WEDDING CRISIS
I ended up re-booking on a new date with Crescent Beach Club. That place is too gorgeous to pass up. The date change was a shame, but I'm sure I won't be thinking about that when I get married by the beach :) Still no money from Waterview Club- it's been a mess. Thanks for your support!
