Accident Aftermath... UPDATE! What, me worry?
I got into an accident Tuesday night and reported it to my insurance company yesterday morning. I haven't made a claim yet becuase I want to get an estimate on the damages first. Here's the post about the accident, just for a point of reference.Stupid Car Accident!
So, today, I get a message from the insurance company of the toolbox who caused the accident. Is this common? Should I be worried? Aren't they supposed to deal only with my insurance company? Is this guy as big of an A$$HAT as I think he is and trying to deflect blame onto anyone but himself?
I called back and left a message. But now I'm worried that this toolbox is going to blame me, or the nice lady in front of me, or the cute guy behind me.

I think that if he submitted a claim through his insurance, they might be calling you to get your side of the story. Not positive though.

You should call his ins co to file a claim. You can take your car to whatever body shop you want to get it repaired and to get an estimate. His ins co will have to go where ever you take it. My DH does this for a living. It is common for them to call if they have your info as far as I know. He probably called his ins to file a claim that's probably where they got your info from.

Re: Accident Aftermath... should I be worried?
I was in an accident several years ago. I never spoke to the other person's insurance company. I filled out an accident report form for my insurance company and they handled everything else.Call your insurance company. Don't talk to the toolbox's company until you do. You might inadvertently say something that may come back to haunt you.

Re: Accident Aftermath... should I be worried?
One bad thing--2 years ago someone hit me from behind, and I steered off and managed to avoid the person in front of me. It was 100% the person who hit me's fault, but they said that had I hit the person in front of me, it would have then been partially my fault for insurance purposes.
Good luck!

Re: Accident Aftermath... should I be worried?
UPDATE!I called my examiner and told her about Mr. Toolbox's insurance co. calling me. She said 'Let them call you all their darn fool heads want, it's not your problem!' Well no she didn't, but wouldn't it have been AWESOME if she had! She said 'You're under no obligation to speak to them.' And then I gave a recorded statement. That's it. I also found out that the nice lady in front of me gave an identical statement to mine. So at least there's that.
I wonder what the cute guy said? Probably that he's in love with me and no insurance company or damage to a bumper can keep us part and until I leave my FH and say that I am his he'll shower me with chocolates and cute shoes. Probably not though. Cuz, I haven't gotten any cute shoes yet.

Imagine he did all that AND bought me chocolate and cute shoes too! I'd drop FH like a bad habit!
I mean FH won't even let me get a monkey!! Something about blah blah blah unsanitary cakes... I bet the cute boy would though.
