Actual Cost of the Wedding

Actual Cost of the Wedding

So we just did a breakdown of all the costs for the wedding (Fiance and I are paying for the whole thing ourselves) and its a lot! We dont even have the most fancy wedding but its still weird to think that we're spending that much on one night! (well, including rings and a honeymoon). Anybody else have sticker shock? I feel like I've spent so much time saving and now, with a blink, i'll have spent a good portion. i hope we get some nice cash gifts! hahahaha.

That's so funny! We had thought about having a destination wedding as well but ended up doing a NY wedding as well....my mother kept saying friends and family would not come to a destination wedding.....wedding is in 9 Days and lots of final payments to make :)

I know how you feel.. we are paying for ours on our own as well and have to hear everyone asking us why dont we just buy a house its costing so much!

but hopefully the memories/pics/video/etc. will outlas the pain from the expense =)

ugh - oh yes. Our wedding was insanely expensive (of which we mainly paid for ourselves)and we are still paying a small part of it back. plus - we pushed our HM back til our 1 yr anniv....but - we obth agree we threw the best party at it was so worth it lol Hey - we are only doing this in our lives once!

I thought we would have a budget wedding but I blew that budget on the RH!
Luckily we have been making payments every month- even if they don't ask for them so that we don't have a huge payment on the day of.
The only thing keeping me from losing my head is the knowledge that I wil b the first in my family to have a formal wedding. And, I only plan on doing this once so I gotta do it up!

not being a total jerk but 9 days to go and your just realizing how much its costing you? thats crazyness. Its hard to stick to a budget ( which is really just an estimate) but you didnt have an idea of how much it would be like months ago?

Good idea on expediting the payments / just lowering the heavy bill later!!! thanks

Oh yes! Our wedding is a more low cost wedding than other weddings on here and we still managed to spend double our original budget. Scary!

Well, I knew what the costs were for each, but never put it all together really....just looks different when its $2k here and there versus looking at it all together ...never sat down to add it up...just kept thinking oh, this is 'reasonable' for the dj, florist etc. We are over our oriignal planned budget by about a third.....oh well.

Having total sticker shock.. and anxiety over it..

We're keeping it as simple as possible and with 4 months left, I'm still not sure how we're paying all the balances.

We'll figure it out, but dang, I'm not sure what else we can cut.
