Addressing invitations
How is everyone addressing their invitations? Are you using calligraphy or do you have any other ideas?

I addressed them all using my computer and MS Word. I love how they came out!

Re: Addressing invitations
The place that I used to order invitations offered the address printing. We didn't have time for hand calligraphy - so we went with the laser prints. It took about a week an a half - and they look very nice. They charged us $2.00 per invitation (which included addressing the outer & inner envelopes.) It was a bit of an added expense - but I'm SOOOO glad we did it. It saved SOOOO much time!!!!

Re: Addressing invitations
My dad has wonderful handwriting (and is retired and bored), so I asked him. He was really thrilled.

Re: Addressing invitations
I also did the envelopes myself, and it was pretty easy. Used MS Word, I think that font was Park Avenue...I just found one that came close to matching the invitation font. If you do a search, someone (Sonicstef, I think) posted a link to lots of beautiful font downloads that are free.I used an ink printer and had to feed the envelopes in one at a time. Once they printed, I had to set the envelope aside to dry for a minute or two.
This can slow the whole process down a bit, but I had plenty of time. I just did 10-20 envelopes a day for a week or so.
Good luck!

Re: Addressing invitations
We had the company who printed our invitations, print the calligraphy. But we had a few errors that were my fault
so we wanted to make the corrections ourselves so we wouldn't have to wait another week to mail out our invitations. We did about 4 or so on the computer. My FH started to say, we could have saved money if we did it ourselves and just as he said that, the printer Jammed and we realized that unless you have a printer that does not get tempermental the stress of doing 100 invitations was not worth it. But, I will say that the print on the ones we did ourselves really was just as nice as the ones done by the company. I don't know what the font is here at work but I will look tonight when I get home and let you know what it was.Good Luck

Re: Addressing invitations
I think computer printing is fine (as long as not on labels)but I have the theory that if you are inviting this person - and really want them there, you should take the time to handwrite the invites...

Re: Addressing invitations
I just found this post and someone asked me a question which I didn't answer - I used Lucidia Calligraphy. It is a standard Calligraphy Font (rather than using a fancy script font..most of the script ones, while very pretty, sometimes became unreadable with so much on the envelope).Welcome New Vendors
