I want to send out my STD's this week. I'm inviting all my single guests with a date. Should I note that when addressing my STD's or just write it on the formal invitations.
For example on the STD: Mr John Smith and Guest or just Mr. John Smith
Also, for my single friends who have BF or GF that I know, do I put their names on the envelopes or do I just write guest? I don't want to be rude to anyone but what if by the wedding they break up?

Re: Addressing STD's
i think for save the dates i'm just going to put the name of the person i know on it... not and guest or anything... but if i do know the person they are dating (and they have been together a while) i would put their name also on the invite b/w i know when FH and i were dating i used to love that !!!

Re: Addressing STD's
For my STDs, I put only the person I know if he/she is single and for married couples, I put Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

I would put and guest because when I got one a few months ago that was addressed only to me I was unsure if that meant I could bring my fiancee with me.

i'm just putting the person I know, unless they are living with a significant other or engaged or something.
i'll wait to put 'and guest' on the invites.

Re: Addressing STD's
For my Save the Dates, I am addressing to married couples 'Mr and Mrs.' and to single friends just to them. Our one engaged friend is getting the STD just to his address, but of course the invite will be to both of them. It's just to set the date aside, and we only have that one person, so we're not worried (FH and him talk all the time, he knows the fiance will be invited!). Even the singles aren't getting 'and guest' because it's not an invite, just a reminder, and I don't want to be bound to invite 'and guest' if they break up or are hopelessly single when my invites go out, and then they just scrounge around for a date they barely know!
I don't think you have to indicate 'and guest' on STD's, basically.

Um, that's a better way of saying what it took me a million lines to say!

Thanks everyone! Now I know what I'm doing but I officially found the one thing I hate about wedding planning. Getting everyone's addresses!!!
