Adressing Invites

Our invites only have an outer envelope- no inner...

So for guests with a girlfriend, but not engaged do I put and Mr. John Smith and Guest or their name... Mr. John Smith and Ms. Jane Whatchamacalit?

If they have been together for a long time I would put the girlfriends name, if he is the type that goes through girlfriends like he does shirts , I would put guest.

Or if you don't like them just put and guest, like I am doing

Funny but true- somebody stop me!!!

Re: Adressing Invites

Well on our save the date magnets we sent our envelopes with invitees name and underneath their significant other's name. We did this for couples dating longer than a year. Well, one of the couples just broke up. So we had a lot of drama about it. I am friends with the girl. DF's brother is friends with the girls' ex. Before deciding who to still invite, girl or both, I asked DF and DF's brother. Both said only invite the girl. So I verbally told her that. We she officially broke up with her ex this weekend. And apparently used our wedding as leverage. She said some mean things. I am not so happy now.
After this experience, I would either call the invitee and ask his/her preference or put and Guest for the invite, but on the place card I would put his/her name.

that is exactly what i want to do with a friend of fh... i hate his girlfriend and just to be a b--ch, i want to put and guest... i guess it's mean but i don't care.... the b--ch snuck up to the bridal suite during my e-party to have sex with her boyfriend... if she does that at the wedding she's dead!
