I don't want to offend anyone, but I don't want children at the reception. I'm probably not even having the children that are in the wedding at the reception.
How do I say this on the reception card without being rude?
Please help!

Re: ADULT ONLY RECEPTION
We had an adult only reception minus the 4 children in the bridal party. Our response cards were filled in for those couples with children stating '2 seats have been reserved in your honor' sort of thing. Unfortunately, people dont pay much mind to who it is addressed to. We even did this for certain guests that were not invited with a guest of their own. It allowed for no confusion.
Our venue was not 'free kids.' Even if it was, we would have done the same thing. By adult we made our reception 21 and over so some of the older second cousins were offended. There was just no way.
If someone wishes to have children at their wedding that is their choice, but I personally agree. Our formal, Saturday evening wedding was not a place for children. Even the kids in the bridal party left early! Its too much!
Again JMO! And for the record I do love children! Not to sound bitter ... I just didnt want that for my wedding. LoL
