I'm sure you can find all the info you need on there as opposed to us 80s girls...
ETA: I'm sure you didn't mean for your opinion to harm anyone, but it's apparent you haven't been to a lot of nice weddings in the LI area. That's fine, but when it comes to an LI based website, don't flaunt your generalizations. K? Thanks.

Your first post? You want advice? And yet, you insult everyone on the boards. How does this make any sense?
I'm sure the girls on there will be a lot more helpful than us 80s girls...
nycweddings and liweddings are the same thats how i log in from work regardless of where (since i'm not getting married in LI and frankly i dont know what LI halls look like) it's rude to insult anyone's choice of venue

I realized that and edited my post. Oops! Still, I'm sure the general website will be a lot more helpful.

i really could care less about what kind of decor you like or don't like. i am more confused over the reason you want to have a wedding in Manhattan. there are millions of places that you could have 120-150 people.
from your description of everyone else's halls you probably would think my hall is horrible.

Giando has a view of Manhattan. i personally thought they where too over priced for such a small amount of food.

ok so I just got engaged and we are looking at prices... I'd like to have a wedding in Manhattan especially since I'm having about 120-150 people.
My personal opinion on anything outside of the city is typical with 1980's decor...
Unfortunetly my budget (as anybody else's really) is limited and I'm looking at no more than $200-$210 per person cost of place+food; is that possible in Manhattan or am I way out of range?
Throw suggestions my way!
My suggestion is to find a new website.

Re: advice needed
Wow, when I read this I knew there was going to be some
I'll just assume that you didn't mean it the way it came out, so I would just say you can search for wedding places in the city on google.
sorry guys! Don't mean to put anyone down ,ofcourse, im just saying that it's not necessarily 'my preference', nothing personal to anyone out there getting married anywhere really.. just needed input on the city
Then PLEASE Just go to the NYC version of this site!

Actually, the vendor lists are different. some advertise on all, some only on NYC, and only on LIW ...
I did not know that the boards were the same.....
Thanks for the info! :)

Re: advice needed
This is *quite* offensive to LI brides, but I'll throw you a bone because I did so much NYC research. My fave place was Stage 6 at Steiner Studios which is actually in Brooklyn with catering by Abigail Kirsch. I was quoted $150pp (+tax/gratuity) for a Friday night in May. I'd also look into Battery Gardens, Bryant Park Grill (though your group might be too large), the Metropolitan building (which is actually in LIC), Bridgewaters, Central Park Boathouse, Capitale, and Manhattan Penthouse. GOod luck.
